Happy Chinese New Year to all. it's a big day here in this part of the world

Oh happy days, I get to go meet all my relatives and relative-relatives etc etc... I don't even recognise most of them.

Heck I only see many of them once a year. on Chinese new year.


But I guess it's all bout relatives and being able to come together again. Eat good food, get free money, and well, so you don't forget those in your extended family



So yes, The year of the tiger! A special-issue picture....

G-sci's a "Tiger of the wind" from Monster-rancher... so I guess little-bit of a tiger is better than no tiger at all.

And she's dressing in some well... let's jsut say somewhat asian dress... not sure if it still counts as a chong sam.

Ah. See, I know next to nothing of Chinese stuff, living as I do in Florida. Although I did play Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4... But those are made by a Japanese company, and I'm sure there's some issues there too.

In the end, what I know about China comes mainly from Battlemech names.

At the moment, all ya need to know is there's a "Chinese new year" and a "Mid autumn festival".... latter is also commonly called "Moon cake festival"

Both involve lots of eating.

So it's like Thanksgiving and Memorial Day here? Awesome. Even more so because it's Chinese food. (Yes, I know what we have here is not authentic Chinese food (except for the places that actually go to the trouble to make it authentic) but it still tastes fucking awesome, dammit.)

Year of the Tiger, eh? I know the different Chinese zodiac animals have different meanings for the years named after them, and I think tiger is supposed to be about change, isn't it?
