Description
The journey all started with my slumber's end. Violent cries stormed where I lay sleeping--A dormant volcano. It seemed stable when I settled millenia ago, but something seems to have re-awoken it. Bracing myself, I hadn't any clue what was about to happen.
Ferocious heat burned at my very essence; Although I couldn't feel it, I knew it was painful. whistling and roaring stormed the chasm I hid in, and slowly, all became a molten red. With no power over my path, I could do nothing as my home disintegrated and I rose towards an opening. Suddenly, without warning, catastrophe struck and I was violently ejected from my originating space. As I rose, so did the molten rock around me. But that soon changed. Vision blurring, I became enveloped in a gaseous waste secreted by the destruction below me. I continued rising, as the solids around me fell.
What seemed minutes was in fact days. What seemed days was in fact minutes. I had no sense of time as I rose to the heavens. Clouds clustered around me for much time, and eventually their weight overcame me. Not as a liquid, but as a gas, still, I fell towards the ground again. I thought I could rest when I reached below. I was wrong.
Being squeezed and changed, the pain I imagined coursed through my being as I was forced into the living life known as "plants". Being in a single place, stuck inside the body of an organism, I had thought I could think of a way out. Nothing changed for weeks as I pondered my escape, but then, violent strikes were blown to the tree that I was held prisoner in. Being felled, the tree, with me in it, was carried to a large building I've called "The Factory".
Without any mercy, my prison was sawed and chopped into small fragments. Still locked in my prison, I was carried along to a furnace, where my incarcerated form incinerated to be used as fuel for humanity's cruel invention. Lucky enough to have avoided being further used, I again rose towards the heavens enveloped in a gaseous state. As I left the building, I noticed an ocean in front of me. Unaware of the changing winds, I slowly drifted closer and closer.
As I came closer still towards the body of water, I began realizing just what was happening. The gas I'd been afloat in dissipated, and I became linked into a mix of the liquid's atomic structure. I never was far from the water's edge, and I sank fairly quickly towards the sedimentary bottom. Without warning, I slammed into the ground and became wedged into the crevice that lay there.
Again, time passed. But a sense of it I had--for a while. I waited, first second. Minutes passed, and soon hours. Lunar tides buried me beneath layers upon layers of dirt. Days went by. Weeks. Months. Years. Insanity grew old quickly. I went sane. Very sane. Viewing my options and situation, it seemed I wouldn't be moving. I again closed my eyes, to drift into slumber.
Heat swelling around me, was the next thing I could comprehend. Red covered all. Familiar roaring noises sounded. I shot into the sky. I feared what would happen this time. Would this cycle continue or change? All I was sure of was that more was to come, and it would be an eternity before it ended.
