Description Rain poured down on a barren wasteland, formerly known as the Hyrulian Field. What used to be lush, green grass, was now rocky terrain soaked by water. Black, bleak clouds covered the blue sky from sight, and lightning reined down on the land mercilessly. A tall, dark figure stood motionless. A red jewel lay on his forehead. A torn black cloak fluttered in the stormy winds. Blood poured from his shoulder. Blood-stained armor covered the dark-gray-skin that lay beneath it. A large, golden-and-white sword was in the figure's hand. Reddish-orange hair and a beard was on the figure's head. Within the red eyes that glared at a second figure, pure hatred flared. Panting, he knew the fight he was in would end very soon. But who would be the victor, even he was afraid of knowing.
His normally 'spunky' blond hair laying flat on his face, a second figure stared back at the first. His green tunic was darkened from the water rushing from the heavens, and other spots were even darker due to the blood now stained into it. The brown boots were covered in the mud that lay everywhere on the battlefield. Water filled his sword's case. The sward lay in his hand, bloodied, but still a beautiful piece with a sapphire-color hilt, golden diamond encrusted on the blade's base, and a glow that enshroud the brilliant silver blade. His green hat lay on the ground, half-buried in the mud. A sword's wound was on his leg. He panted as the figure before him did.
Neither person moved. What seemed an eternity of an eye-staring stand-off was hardly ten seconds. A last clash would be brought about soon. Breaking his standing stance, the taller, darker figure took a step back to brace himself for a rush. In response, the smaller figure took a step back and held it's sword behind him. The larger person bringing his sword above him, to crash it down onto the smaller's head, the smaller stay waiting. Within range, the final strike was made. Straight into the shoulder, the sword pierced the skin like child's play. Blood gushed out and splattered the others face. The smaller figure had struck first. Yanking the sword out, more blood was brought out, and the bigger figure fell backwards. His sword dropped, and with it's weight, slammed into the opposite arm, cutting through the muscle straight through to the bone. In an eery way, the smaller figure made his way slowly to the now-harmless figure.
"Y-you..." The larger figure began. "In a-all our past l-lives... Y-you've never been so s-straight forward to harm me..." The larger figure stuttered out the words, in great pain, and quickly losing blood from his multiple wounds.
Staring down the figure from above him, the second didn't respond for many moments. Violent winds blew his hair the direction it traveled. Lightning struck behind him, and his figure became dark for a moment.
"I've finally figured it out, Gannon..." He said to the larger figure named Gannon. "The only way to finally be rid of you, and your incarnations..."
The smaller figure drew his sword and aimed it at Gannon's throat. A look of fear--a rare sight--passed through Gannon's eyes.
"Is to kill you once and for all." The smaller figure finished.
"Y-You can't do this, Link! If you kill me, Hyrule will be overtaken by forces outside of the barrier I've p--"
His words were cut short. Link thrust the sword through Gannon's throat, and the rest of the words were lost through gurgling blood. The sword was thrust through the neck itself, and into the ground. Not bothering to take it out, Link let go of the sword and stood over his now-deceased enemy. Generations of fights and battles, all with the same two people in different bodies each time, all came to a closing. Previous fights ended in banishment or a prisonous hold. This battle ended the cycle.
Looking up to the sky, rain water attacked Link's face. Everything would be peaceful now, he thought. It should be. The biggest evil threat was finally dead. All the citizens of Hyrule, all the living creatures in the land, could rest peacefully.
Or so he thought.
A loud and violent rumbling noise went throughout the entirety of Hyrule. The ground shook as though an Earthquake lay about. The sky cracked, and chips of it fell down to the land, shattering into microscopic pieces as it hit. From small fragments to large chunks, the pieces of the sky grew larger as more fell. A shell that surrounded hyrule disappeared, and the storm clouds fell with the false sky. Looking around wildly, Link had no idea what was happening. Gannon had tried to warn him of evil that lay wait with his death. He should have listened!
The catastrophe that started ended in a few minutes. Clear blue skies replaced the storm that had raged. Many birds flew overhead. Staring off into the distance, instead of what used to be a seemingly ending line, were endless skies with clouds. No longer was something cutting off Hyrule from the world. More sour smells, although only slight, filled the air. Objects flew in the sky that looked like birds, but, they didn't flap. Cloud trails came from behind them as they zoomed across the sky. Seeming to circle Hyrule, one veered off of it's originally course and circled around Hyrule a few times before resuming the direction it originally went to.

All residents of Hyrule gathered, ignoring the war that they normally had, and came to the Hyrulian Courtyard. A beautiful sight, it was. Divine and intricate patterns were carved into pearl pillars, and lush green grass covered the middle. Gold water fountains lined every ten feet of the inside wall. A golden balcony sat atop the wall. A large and bulbous fish-like creature, called a Zora, stood on the balcony, a velvety red cape covering his body. Alongside him stood a bulky and muscular, brown and earth-like creature, called a Goron, who wore a similar robe. Alongside the Goron stood a smaller figure, resembling a shrub with a wooden face and circular snout. But, the Deku, as the species was known as, instead of a robe, had a crown-like leaf pattern on it's head. Compared to the Goron and Zora, it came to only about their knees. The final figure that stood on the outer-part of the balcony, alongside the three others, was a large and bulbous human. A golden crown with seven spouts, a large one center with a red ruby on it, dawned on his head. He held white hair upon his head, and a white beard-mustache combo as well. A think, velvety red robe also encircled him, but a white fleece-like material covered the top and bottom ends of it.
"All inhabitants of the Hyrulian lands," The human began, speaking to everyone in the full courtyard, "I, the King of Hyrule, as well as my fellow leaders, the Goron King,"
The Goron took a bow as the crowd cheered.
"The Zora King,"
The Zora bowed as well, the crowd cheering for him.
"And the Deku King,"
The deku, unable to bow due to it's wood-like structure, with only the ability to move it's legs, hopped up and down twice. Again, the crowd cheered.
"Have all come together to speak of what has happened in this afternoon. What appeared to be the sky breaking, is a phenomenon that none of use can explain." The Hyrulian king finished. The crowd piped up in a mixture of confusion, questioning, and panic.
The Hyrulian King waited until the crowd quieted down to continue speaking. "A spot of good news, however, is among us. Link, a hero trained here in the Hyrulian City, has vanquished Gannon once and for all. Terror will no longer be among us!"
The crowd let out cries that became so loud, it was near ear-splitting. But the leaders stayed still as the crowd quieted down.
"We have that hero here, today, to honor him. Link, please step forward."
From the shadows at the back of the balcony, Link, now in a new and fresh-green tunic, stepped forward into the light. His hair wasΒ Β still slightly damp and a darker blond than usual, but close to it's original color it was. His crystal-blue eyes showed obvious fatigue, and his form was slouched in a tired manner. But still, he stood straight as he could and proud. As soon as he had entered the light, and view of the crowd, they immediately began chanting in unison.
"Hero of time! Hero of time! Hero of time!"
Link nodded in response to the crowd, who continued chanting. It would have been several minutes before they stopped, had the Hyrulian King not intervened. Raising his hand and showing his palm for silence, the Hyrulian King quickly quieted the crowd.
"Also, it was only thanks to our hero, Link, that my daughter was also saved from the evil clutches of Gannon. Her beauty once again shines upon our lands, and inspires not only Hylians, but all races. Citizens of Hyrule, I present to you, my beautiful daughter, Princess Zelda!"
From the back of the balcony, a beautiful maiden slowly walked into the light. Black slippers were hidden under a beautiful snow-white gown, intricate Hylian symbols sewn into and along the bottom of it. Center and front of the white gown-like dress was a mixture of red, gold, silver, and gray, all woven and created into a single long stretch of design from just above the ankles to the hips. A V-shaped cut on the top of the pattern allowed for a made-of-gold ancient-weigh-like design to sit in and above it. Sapphire gems were placed in three spots along this, one on each arm for the weigh, and one dead-center. A beautiful royal-purple vest covered the top of the dress, and a golden belt held the vest close to the body. A similar-to-the-gown silky gauntlet covered the arms, with similar designs on them, and extended up to the shoulders, but were cut off from view by golden shoulder plates. A sapphire-gem necklace lay around the pale-tan-skinned neck. A gorgeous face holding brown dark-brown hair, and a golden-with-sapphire crown, with a similar but sky-blue pair of eyes as Link had, stood atop the lovely figure who was Princess Zelda.
Taking a step to the side, Link allowed Princess Zelda to step near the edge of the balcony. Again, the crowd cheered and chanted in unison.
"Long live the Princess! Long live the Princess!"
Slowly, the crowd quieted. Looking around, among the citizens, the Hyrulian King took a moment on what he was to say next.
"In addition to th--" The Hyrulian King had begun to talk, but was cut off by the Goron King.
"King of Hyrule, you're straying far from the original purpose of our gathering." He spoke boldly, and loud enough for everyone in the courtyard to hear, almost defying the Hyrulian King.
"What do you mean?" The Hyrulian King responded in a seemingly-honest way.
Before the Goron King could respond, the Zora King joined the conversation.
"What he means, King of Hyrule, is that we only came here to talk about what happened with the sky. Your petty worshipings of your so-called hero and daughter mean nothing to the other races. They killed Gannon, but, he was not a large threat to our societies. The earthquake and sky's destruction do, however, concern our people." Scorn filled the Zora King's words, and he glared at the Hyrulian King. Scars were left from previous fights the two had been in before.
Taking a step back to get out of the verbal war that could start between the Kings, Zelda stepped back and stood next to Link.
Looking back towards the crowd, the Hyrulian King had no choice but to face what he'd hope to avoid.
"The other Kings are right, Citizens. I've no right to avoid this subject. As previously said, there are no clues as to why that happened, or what it has done. No harm has come to anyone in the City of Hyrule. Has any in your territories?"
To end his statement, a question was posed from the Hyrulian King to the other Kings of the land. They all shook their head.
"But this does not mean, people, that we may rest soundly tonight. A delayed reaction may occur, although it is not known if it will." It was the Deku King who spoke this time.
Gasps and whispers spread throughout the audience like wildfire, but again, the Hyrulian King silenced them.
"This does not mean to raise alarm and board your houses, grabbing your weapons. It simply means that you must be ready to leave quickly, if n--"
A second time, the Hyrulian King as interrupted. But this time from the large, main gates to the courtyard being forced open quickly. Every head turned to see what could have opened such large gates with such ease. Hundreds of men were lined, all in green, black, and gray camo-type suits. A flag fluttered at the back of the army, with red-and-white stripes, and white stars over a blue-square base in the top-left corner. Each in the new crowd had a gun. And every gun was pointed at the citizens of Hyrule.
