yup just looked up the voice actors for the Japanese version of fire emblem awakening and thrilled at some of the cast.
I don't actually know many seiyuus cuz just recently start paying attention to them, but some of my favorites are in this game. Besides Krom...
1. My unit: can select Toru Okawa, Roy from FMA!!
2. Frederick: Ono Daisuke, Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji, Shizuo from Drrr
3. And most importantly, Ronku is Takehito Koyasu!!!!!!! This is the guy that got me interested in voice actors to begin with! cuz he was Himuro sensei in Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 1. He was Navarre in the Fire emblem anime and now he's back as another myrmidon - one of my favorite classes. Ran/ Aya from Weiss Kreuz.
So what's my point? I've always thought that FE Awakening would be the reason I end up getting a 3DS, but now I'm really worried about the North American localization. Are they really going to replace these awesome voices??? If past anime and game dubbings are any indication, it's going to be horrendous. It hurts just thinking about it. It would be amazing if they they could just supplement the original voices with subtitles...
If nothing else, the translations better be top-notch. Even if I'm a little apprehensive, can't wait for this game

Don't worry about the hair, you did a great job. I have problems drawing his hair too, but you did ok. The drawing as a whole is good!
About the voice actors, I didn't know Takehito Koyasu voiced Ronku! He's my favourite voice actor, I'll definitely look more into it once I got the game (since I remember Japanese lines are provided with the English too...). I've seen the English trailer for the game, and I'm content with Chrom's voice. Everyone else's are fine too, especially Liz, since they didn't make her high-pitched like the Japanese voice.
Aaaanyway, this guy here is the reason I got into FE in the first place *points at your deviation*. I'm one of the new players lured by this game lol.

I'm really glad that the Japanese tracks will be included too; my worst fear from November averted! From the demo, the voices were all acceptable, EXCEPT for Virion >

Krom is easily becoming one of my newest favorite fire emblem lords and characters. And I really admire this piece of art portraying his lighter side. It looks great and that hair looks great, so no worries about it! Awesome job! And totally can't wait for it to come out, already pre-ordered and waiting for it!
Plus Krom's English voice to me seems really fitting and I thoroughly enjoy it! I imagined him with a deeper voice, so I figured they did well with that department, but here's to seeing how they do with the other voices.

Yeah I'm really liking Krom from what I've seen so far too. For some reason, I feel like he'd be able to joke around when nothing else is going on XD
I don't know why I didn't expect such a deep voice from him even though I know Tomokazu Sugita was doing his voice. Maybe it's the art style. From all the English voices I heard in the demo, the only one that really bugged me was Virion. The Japanese track with be available though, and I'm sure I'll get used to the voices in no time.

I love how the game isn't even out yet, and people are already making fanart of it. I am in the same boat you're in, FE Awakening is going to be the reason I buy a 3DS. And they just HAVE to release it in America. If they didn't, my faith in Nintendo will be forever lost. I'm still mad they never released New mystery of the emblem in America! I will never forgive them for that. Also, I had no idea voice actors were even used in the handheld FE games. Only for cutscenes did they use it in PoR and RD. Great work btw!

It really warms my heart to know hardcore FE fans are still out there. I know what you mean, I would've been really disappointed if Nintendo didn't release it here, and just sad that there isn't enough demand anymore to get it released. I hope they will have the special edition blue 3DS that comes bundled with the game as they did in Japan. It looks amazing!!
To be honest, I didn't enjoy Shadow Dragon very much and haven't played it much. I think they kinda messed up with the remake with the new art style, awkward dialogue, lack of development of characters (which I've always found to be FE strong point), and just not upgrading the gameplay to what we've been used to (ex. no supports/ conversations, rescuing). It's really a shame because it was a chance for the beginning of Fire Emblem and Marth's story to be known, but the delivery really wasn't ideal. I think I'm going to give it another try though. I guess all this made FE12 unable to get released here? I hope fans make a full translation patch so we can play that part of the story... I just don't think I can go back and play the originals >_<
I think the voice acting Awakening will have during conversations will be limited to simple phrases (like ok, ahh, sigh, maybe a portion of the conversation?) plus a few phrases during fights... that's all I got out of the trailer but maybe there will be more?

I actually enjoyed Shadow Dragon, though I can see where you are coming from. You make very valid points on how it did not come up to par with some of the earlier games. But at the time when I played Shadow Dragon, I had only played path of radiance and radiant dawn, so I wasn't too particular on the little factors. Though looking back, I do wish the characters would have been more three dimensional, instead of the millions of faceless units that were put in there to bulk up the casual gamer's army so they would always have a team no matter how many people died. I'm not sure if there were that many characters in the original FE game, but in my eyes, they should have tried to develop the characters the player already had, THEN move on to importing new ones. That's what FE is all about, showing that every solider has his or her own story to tell, and that it's a GOOD story.

was just on serenesforest, and saw that FE12 English patch has been completed!! I had no idea it was going on besides translation of the menus. [link] Apparently a lot of complaints about FE11 were fixed here! More reason to get through FE11 I suppose.
Also, that you enjoyed Shadow Dragon is encouraging. I think most if not all of the characters with unique faces were in the original game. I'm definitely not pleased with how FE11 strayed away from the FE tradition of trying to keep everyone alive, making it desirable and sometimes necessary to sacrifice characters... I guess that's more realistic but just not how I like my FE games!

I saw the new patch was available for FE12!!! I am so excited now! I'll have to look into what I have to download in order to play it first. Probably just a DS emulator or something.
I agree, right from the get go, you had no choice but to let one of your people die. (considering you chose the easiest difficulty) I felt completely helpless at that part. But other than the over stock of characters, I did feel a connection between Marth and Caeda/Shiida and was so happy for them at the end of the game, (granted she survived). I also found the world incredibly enthralling. Real world war is something all the Fire Emblem games always excel at and Shadow Dragon was no different. I loved the conflict of the game.
I could rant and rave all day about the things I enjoyed about Shadow Dragon. But my main point is that you have to play a game for it's strong points, not it's faults. No game is perfect, so just sit back and enjoy what we have!

I think you're totally right, the fact is I'm a fan of FE and there are lots of things to enjoy in every game. And I should just be thankful Shadow Dragon is available so I CAN play Marth's story at all (I really don't think I can go back to 1st game XD)
Plus, I've really been having a lot of fun with Mystery of the Emblem, which makes me want to know more about the story =]

They will most likely replace the japanese voice actors with english voice actors. Although it would be nice if Nintendo can put both voices into the game, it probably wouldn't even fit into the small cartridge.

I've been excited about it, but not this worked up until this week! and now I wish I'd kept it that way because first of all of the anxiety of wanting it to be perfect (and wanting it to be a complete success so they'll continue the FE franchise).
I guess I'll get over the voice acting fairly soon (already am XD) since it's not like everything is voiced and I remember the little phrases from Lufia Curse of the Sinistrals, it didn't bug me too much. Now I'm starting to worry about the translations... just praying it will be like the GBA ones and not the horribly awkward and stiff translation in Shadow Dragon.
The second reason is, now how can I stand waiting for another several month before it gets here!?!? I'm getting all restless and can't help but find more info on it, which will probably spoil my experience when I do get to play it T__T
