I hope you don't mind, but I used this image as a reference for a speed painting to warm up because it was so crisp and beautiful and elegant.

I linked to you in my comments, and here is the digital piece [link]

Gorgeous!

I see you used a Canon EOS 7D. You also have an EOS 600D. I have just bought a 600D. Which do you find the better camera?

In image quality they're practically identical since they share the same sensor. The 7D has the more toys though. More shots, faster. Updated AF system and tougher build quality and handling. The 600D I got mainly for the tilting screen which comes in handy at times. Also the lower weight can help at times too. It also has more video options although I don't use them.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'm a total novice, and only just got my first 'proper' dslr. I need to gain experience and practical knowledge yet. Just bumbling along at present. Thanks again, and I so love your gallery! Amazing works.

I only started serious about... 3 years ago I think. So just keep at it Just getting out there and taking photos helps. I think I did my local park to death and then some.

I have the same thing with the Kennet & Avon canal near home, and people still keep favouriting the pics I post, so there's still mileage in it yet. The River Thames is yet to be done to its limits too. Not had chance to take the 600D out there yet.

Thanks again, and take care. Dennis.

This has got to be the best cheetah picture I have ever seen. Seriously. And the leaf frame was perfectly placed in this shot, amazing work

You must have got something?

I think this is one of the ones from the side of the enclosure... or was it the top end? Can't be sure now.

Nice! I like how the leaves frame the face. I was thinking for a moment if they disturb the picture rather than framing it, but I think especially the ones in the upper half of the picture really help to focus the watchers eye on the cheetahs eyes, leading the watchers attention to the very intense expression of the cheetah
