This piece is truly breathtaking and I love all the stained glass and colors you used. The lighting is wonderful and I love the little details here and there that you don't quite notice at first.

The only thing bugging me is that there seems to be a disconnect between the tones used in the upper half of the picture and the tones used in the lower half. I realize this might have been intentional but a little hint of the pastel colors used in the top portion I think would help the bottom portion mesh with the upper portion a little more. It almost feels like a completely different piece at the bottom and my eye doesn't move through it very comfortably.

Other than that, this is superb!

Although this is digital artwork, the sky and clouds look amazingly like those of the artist Murillo. The rest of the picture contains colors more bright than can be had with oils, an advantage of digital art. The stained glass (I presume) in the castle windows is truly remarkable. I've never seen sunlight on a bright day come through stained glass like this anywhere but in reality. If you can come up with this effect so well, you should definitely do more like it.
The one bit of "disconnect" is the continuation of a hill up and beyond a cliff dropoff. This might be a motif in fantasy genre, yet I think a depiction of a moat along the bottom would have a more stabilizing effect without changing much in the picture.

Hey, first of all, this is a wonderful piece of art. Your choose of colors a great. I like how the colors develope in light and shadow. You did that very well.
The way how you deal with the (sun)light is good too. But I am not sure about the light in the back part of the building. The big tower is higher than the front building, that's why the top is spotlighted, right? But I can't percieve where the greenish/yellow light over the tree there is coming from. The same with the bluish light a little bit deeper.
Your sense of details got lost there a little bit.
You solved that way better in the lower left corner with this blurry view to the background.

I love the clouds and the white birds there. It works out fantastically. The blue that shines through the clouds is wonderful.
I also like the trees that seem to become the ground of the next higher level. You realized a fantastic idea.
The play of colors at the frontpart of the building is gorgeous.

First of all...
Critiqueing any of your artwork is a true challenge, and a sure delight.
the graduations in tone in this piece are marvelously done. I see delicate shades matching those of true nature. in every aspect it is a well balanced piece. .my eye travels nicely about it and settles on the sweet and imaginative details like the attention to the fantastically light doorway to the the castle dorms gradually fading in the background to the right...
you have used your color balance well. Every bit of subject matter is balanced by just the right shading and highlight.
there is so very much to look at, yet it does not seem to busy at all.
even at it's size shown , I can see the wonderful textures from grass to rock to clouds. tis nice to see this so and not the same brushes used over all.
The crystalline castle foyer is of course the main focus for me and the castle architecture. They are wonderfully done with originality and style.
Overall a magical place..soft and serene,.. that hold it's own special place in the world of imagination. well done. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

This is beautiful. I have not seen something quite like this; usually when I see lovely structures, those pieces have bland scenery, but this one, the scenery is very peaceful and pretty too. I like the little mosaic in the front and the glow from the doorway too. It reminds me a little of some kind of fantasy game, or something. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" /> I don't entirely know what the little arches in the dirt-hill are, but they're very interesting too. Looks like little hobbit holes, but more narrow. The only part that looks a little odd to me is that tower in the back which looks grayish and a little like an unlit torch-all of the rest of the architecture is very smooth and pretty, but that particular one looks weird; jagged. Not sure if that was intended. Beautifully done overall though. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

Quite a lovely piece you have here! The detail is absolutely spectacular and the colors are very well put together! It also creates a mood of peace and beauty and brings the viewer into a world of fantasy! There's also kind of a dark aura in it through the top clouds which creates a good use of contrast in the picture. This must have taken forever to paint, but it certainly paid off! I just know one day, I'm going to look back at this in my favorites! Such a beautiful scene you have created! Keep up the good work!

This is quite simply a wonderful piece of art.

Firstly the proportions are particularly pleasing and the coloring is magic.

The lighting is particularly beautiful in this piece and leads the viewers eye up into the beautifully lit building with grand windows that one can just imagine create wonderful patterns and reflections within.

The difficult thing with a piece like this, is for the artist to portray the complexity of light and how it falls....this has been done perfectly, not only by a perfect choice of color, but also by choosing to use several lit areas. This is exceptionally effective and leads the viewers eye perfectly through the work and up into the magnificent building, yet allows a visual exploration of the whole work.

There is only one small detail that I wonder about....and that is the very bottom right hand corner. I'm not sure of this light and empty area as it seems to undermine the balance of the main mass of the hill and building. Perhaps if it was dark and solid it would add to the stability of the hill and building, as it stands, it almost feels as if the whole thing could crash down into what appears to be a void there.

Not withstanding this last comment this is a fabulous piece of work....well done!!!!

Wonderfull use of light and dark. Also i love the colors used in this picture. a lil dark and a lil light, giving the picture the magic it deserves. the dark clouds in the sky next to the blue sky... the light university next to the dark entrance in the lower right... the light hill side next to the dark hill side;.. just lovely! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l… " width="26" height="17" alt="" title="Love" /> the trees in the lower left and the rock formation in the lower right gief me the feeling of a floating "island" in the sky. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" /> and the lil boots in the back are a nice touch as wel. overall i just love the magic floating from this picture.

- wonderfull coloring
- great composition
- amazing details
= win! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/n/n… " width="35" height="31" alt="" title="#1" />

This is fabulous! I love the impression of epic proportions and depth that you have created both with the composition and use of colour. Though as ever your use of colour is what delights the imagination and draws the viewer into the scene. It makes me want to climb up the hill and see what is through the doorway and behind the windows, and to see better what there is in the distance. Truly magical! I wish you the very best of luck in the challenge! (Unless thats finished, in which case I hope you won!) Outstanding in every way!
