I think this is lovely and sad. The dress does seem a little too big. I know they used a lot of material but....I don't know the proporotions just seem off. Still it is very pretty.

If you think the dress is too big, you probably haven't seen Gone with the Wind . It's actually quite accurate with its costumes, and shows off dozens of dresses just like this one. They absolutely were this big back in the 1860s, which was the peak of the crinoline era.
