Description Quick render of Lust with a generic pose and no corrective postwork (just color correction). He looks more serious here than he normally does, that's because this is just a materials test.

Nothing special, but I am happy with how little fixing I had to do in Photoshop to get him to look like this. Thanks for viewing!

Michael 4, rendered in DAZ Studio 4.6, color correction in Photoshop CC.

That's a great image.

I feel the same way about male textures being better than female. I only have one or two female textures that I think look good.

Thanks! Yeah, male textures (and figures) just seem to have more detail, so they look better in renders. I should try to make more male renders, I was surprised at how much attention this simple pic got. Figured no boobs = no visits...not quite as accurate a statement as I thought.

That's the way it normally works for me. I show boobs and I get a thousand views. I have some guy in armor and I get one. I don't care either way. I just make pictures I would like to see. Not like I'm getting paid for doing it or anything

If you're not getting paid and don't really care either way, that's the way to do it. I don't get paid either, but I do kinda care if my work is liked and/or seen, so I still lean towards boobs and fighting, haha. I'll occasionally inflict something cute on my viewers whether they like it or not though.

Hmm, very interesting. A render of Lust not as some sort of succubus-like woman, but Greek or Roman sort of soldier? Considering the attitudes at the time of both of those nations, a pretty accurate choice for someone who'd willing just follow his impulses to do whatever he wanted with those his armies beat. I'm impressed by the amount of thought you put into this. Cheers!

You actually put *much* more thought into this that I did. He's actually just a flirtatious fool who is nicknamed 'Lust' because he is the child of a female devil lord and a human king. His armor looks that way because I mixed two totally different outfits and liked the combination. I'm not really into history or making my story particularly period-accurate, I just want it to be fun and likeable.

Thank *you* very much for looking at my art with such thought!

Oh, k. NP.

To be clear on the one thing though, what I meant about the armor and the soldier thing being appropriate was that according to historians, the Romans encouraged soldiers to get romantic and lustful -- supposedly it increased their proficiency in battle because they both wanted to impress their lovers and keep them safe. It was a surprisingly inventive tactic on their part, and actually means that the Roman army was probably one of earliest armies allowing for the idea of open sexual preference. Not sure if that helps at all with your stories, but food for thought I guess.

I didn't know all of that, thanks very much. Take care!

Thanks! LOL, she can resist him because he's a dummy and a flirt, like a drunk guy at a bar.

Thanks! I don't know why exactly, but it's always been easier for me to make decent looking men in 3D than women. I think the textures for men are better to be honest.

I noticed the same with my renders.

It's probably because guys wear more (in most of our renders, haha) which adds detail overall, and the fact that male figures both have more skin detail (like body hair) and muscles. I'm really noticing it now while trying to make a new gorgon, because she doesn't have a lot of clothing, she looks awful under the exact same lighting and materials as that Lust pic until I fix it in Photoshop. Weird.

That sounds about right! I'm sure the Gorgon looks awful in the lighting because of the skin texture. I found it difficult finding skin textures that looked good in the same lighting. It's a large reason why I mostly did single character images.
