Tails... In semi-human form...
I've been working on this for a few hours and been freaking sleepy the whole time. I keep nodding off but I wanted to finish it because my kid is very excited with it. Unfortunately, my eyes are giving up. So this is a WIP...
and you guys... Let me know what you think or if I'm going in the right direction or what the hell I'm doing wrong.
There are a lot of things I still need to work on (highlight, more shadows, background...) but it's taking shape at least. Or I think it is.
Anyway... Help me out here guys. Orz
Edit: Fixed his pants and his tails. ^^
Edit2: Fixed hair, googles and some highlights. And got informed by Alex that she wanted a 'cartoon' coloring in my usual style. Hahahaha. I'm so dead.

It wasn't Cream... I think. I'm not exactly sure. I think it was some sort of alien plant girl who died... I'll ask her again later.
My little one though wants me to draw Cream and Cheese.

I sort of mixed up what Barry taught me and what I usually do while coloring. Plus I can't leave the hair alone. Yes... Hair. I think I overdo painting the hair... I have to find some sort of method for it... But I can't help myself...

I actually think the hair looks really good, but maybe you used a little too much white. It looks like you did the hair and tail in a different style than the rest of the painting. Not so different in a bad way, really, it's just that the white highlights seem slightly out of place in contrast with the rest. At least it came off that way to me, but then again I can't color/draw for toffee, so I dunno

Hahaha. About the whites on the hair... If you remember Tails has white whiskers on his face or well, his face is white so I made the ends of his hair white and sort of mixed up the whites on some parts so it doesn't look hella weird.
I'll check back on the tail if I can do something with it.

Ah, yeah. I had to look up a picture of Tails on Google to see OTL But I see what you were going for. And the bottom of the tail is perfect, I just think that the few strands going upwards looked sliiiightly out of place.

Your new painting skills are really coming to rights here. I love what you've done so far. That tail is looking very good.
I think you already know what you need to do after your rest.
Obviously you've still his hair to finish along with the shadows and highlights in hands, weapon, goggles and whatnot small details. I'd use harder brush or smudge on the highlights of his coat, they're little too blurry or soft toward the ends at the moment, the highlights on his pants are good though, more precice and suit this style and the texture is subtle but adds depth and detail. I like the gradient too.)
Keep doing what you've been doing, brilliant job so far, it's still your style but on new level. I dare say this is your most challenging colouring you've done so far and it's going to be success.

I'm almost done. I'm done with his hair and his googles. I'm now painting his t-shirt and will finish the gloves. Then Alex comes in and says... "Looks nice mom... But I wanted you to color him like you always do. You know like stan and cid." (She means my flat comics thing.)
So I said... Oh... Okay Lex... I'll finish this and color it that way again.
She said grinning. "Okay. Coz right now, it looks like a picture. I want it cartoon like..."
I love my kids. They drive me crazy.

I can say I like the colours and it looks like the shiny spots on the jacket are in the right place.
I really like his expression too, but I think your guys often wear very similar expression. Maybe you should try something totally different? (silly-stupid face? Or disgusted? Or sorry-sad-depressed? Just an idea...)

Hehehe. I give them that expression because I basically like smiling guys more than emo ones.
And my kid would probably pull out all my hair if she saw I gave her baby Tails the depressed face.
I do try (and will try more) to give my characters different expressions appropriate for the setting though. Umm... Nevermind Stan though, he always looks lewd no matter what he does.
