Sandman kinda fits. Don't you think?
Pencil sketch done while watching Inkheart on dvd. Added textured paper background in photoshop and some colors. Ignore the editing near the eyes and the weirdness of the hands. hehehe

Thanks. It's easier to draw the symbol if you look at it as a series of different shapes than an actual letter. That way it's just like any other drawing.

He tattooed it on his forehead when he was little, using his sand, as a symbol of 'a demon loving only himself'. He knew then that no one loved him and either feared or hated him. It is also to live up to the name his mother had called him before she died, calling him 'a self-loving carnage' due to her hatred for their village and for using her as a sacrifice to bear a child with a beast inside him.

I love the description. I'm a writer but I'm in no way adept at drawing so I look up to people who can do both really well. Sounds like a fascinating story. I love the concept even MORE now. haha ^_^
