At the age of seven I kept having this recurring nightmare where I would find myself in the middle of the ocean. I remember I felt exhausted, I tried to swim but I could not move from the spot. Things took a turn for the worse when I noticed an enormous shape ascending from the depths, it was heading towards me, really fast. But I really felt horrified when the beast emanated a deep growl that felt like a shock wave. Fortunately for me, the dream ended at this point.I can't say this an accurate depiction of the sea monster from my dream but it's close enough.

I understand what you are trying to tell us.It is very very scary in a dream to see this in a dream.I am in love with this epic picture of the notorious Leviathan.Its awesome detail strikes me as pure epicness and(as wonka would say) imagination!Epic epic epic epic epic!Times the epicness by four and you still won't have as much epicness as this picture.I would rate this picture as (of coarse)ten!Epic epic epic!

I love sea monster pictures and I especially like sea monsters that are drawn underwater.
I love the way the artist depicts a true underwater landscape with the heights of an underwater trench rising up. The lighting is done very well and it really does look like a submarine scene.
The creature itself is rather interesting and imaginative. That this is an attempt to recreate a dream gives it a certain immediacy. The hard armour of its skin is impressive and the combination of a serpentine body with hooked tentacles is very anatomically interesting. It looks like a vertebrate form, perhaps fish or reptile, but its limbs set it apart from any species, giving it a real alien quality.
A quite impressive picture in my judgement.

The first things that I say when I see this is "wow" and "I want to have a mini one as a pet"
This is absolutely amazing, the lighting is beautiful, and so is the shading. I love your use of blues and greens, it adds to the underwater sea monster effect, and I just love blue and green.
You display a high amount of skill in this piece, and you should be very proud with how this piece of art turned out. The detail that you put into the face is incredible, and just makes the piece even more awesome!

Talk about your scary sea serpents that threaten to rise from the water's depths to eat you alive...and did I mention that this one can eat your ship too? And maybe use your sails as a toothpick for its many fangs!!
"Leviathan" by ~Beloved-Creature is one of the best Leviathan artists that I've seen in a while. Having gone to do some research for a tribal style prize that I'm drawing for a contest winner of a leviathan, I stumbled across this breath-taking piece, and I have to say, ~Beloved-Creature , you have done an AMAZING job!!
I love the faint tinges of light blue and white in the background that seem to provide just enough light through the water for us to see this fearsome creature's true form and power that would make us quake in our shoes. The detail of this piece is very well done, from the tentacles, not a one looking the same as another, to the veins in the fins portion of the tentacles, the scales on its lower body, to the armor-like plating on its head.
Great work, ~Beloved-Creature , and I thank you for sharing this amazing piece of work with us ^^

The design of this is superb, to say the least! The form is like something you'd see in a prehistoric sea creature, but at the same time is like a mythical beast, like a dragon.
The darkness and angle in this is impressively used, and it gives a whole atmosphere to this creature as being a fearsome thing with an immeasurable presence.
I think that this is easily one of your best works. You were able to create such a fascinating thing to look at, something that looks both horrifying and enthralling at the same time. It's scary, but you can't look away.
I can imagine it saying, "Cthulu ain't got shit on me!"

Would it be okay if I could feature your artwork as part of one of the creatures in my story? I find your art truly horrifying, and a symbol of the dangers of the deep, and I have a fitting place for it in the plot.

These things used to show up in my nightmares. I would go swimming and then eventually I'd sink, and end up at the sea floor. It'd be dark so I could only see a few feet into the darkness. At first I'd wander the wondrous sea floor examining the coral, fish, cephalopods, etc. Then I would get scared of the unknown things that could be lurking in the dark, and I would begin to swim to the surface. After a while the sea floor and all its life would vanish from my limited vision, and a laviathan not unlike this one would appear out of the darkness. It would chase me like this for what seemed like hours until either I died or I pulled myself onto something floating in the water and waited for it to go away.
Great work by the way! I'm not sure why these things capture the human imagination, fear is a funny thing.

I've always found it fascinating how huge the imagination of people can be. Especially when it came to monsters and creatures - not as much for gods (Or at least I think so xD). I love reading about them, but what has surprised me most was how people draw them differently from each other. I just love it! ^^Β

I had that dream, only for me it was a squid. And instead of waking up, it just kept on restarting over and over. In the dark waters, screaming in the grasp of tentacles but never dying. Worst nightmare ever. *shudders*
And wow, how big do you think that thing it? Enough to eat a blue whale like a sardine most likely.

this is a very nice detailed drawing. of any monster type that frightens me it has to be sea monsters. when your in the middle of the ocean you don't know where they are gonna come from and the fact that you can't run makes it even more horrifying.

This has a very cool look to it and has a nice "hybrid" feel to it (while not just looking like a fish with some tentacles slapped on it or something). It feels a little like an aquatic version of a "Sliver" from MtG.

This. This is truely amazing. I was looking up a picture of a leviathan because I was frustrated on how stupid the DnD version looked. A whale? C'mon... Then I find this.
