the entire thing is just one giant spindle. i right clicked and converted the spindle into a editable polygoy and did everything through their. the materials are applied to selections of polygons rather than objects.

Woah man, thanks alot. Still i'm quite blur bout C4D xD. Can i just select a section and apply material to it ? cause from what i know, i usually add the material directly to the whole render itself.

well aright for instance say i started with a box, and then converted it to editable polygon. so i can selecet polygons OR the square, the polygons are squares/triangles and such on the surface that make the square. i usually select the square we started with and make it a color, in the above render i made it white, then i grabbed stripes of polygons on the square and made them black, and inbetween the two black lines i put a stripe of red by selecting those polygons as well... i have no idea how to do it in c4d
