Soul shape—Every soul has a shape, and if an individual is being plagued by an illness or some inner turmoil, the soul’s shape is no longer balanced but rather distorted, even deformed, depending on the degree of severity. Five is able to sense the shape of someone’s soul by placing her fingers on their forehead and concentrating. If a soul is unwholesome, it could indicate that the individual is plagued by a malicious spirit or has lost a part of themselves to the spirit world. As a shaman, she will often attempt to then ‘mend’ the soul, whether the person wants her to or not, if it is within her ability to do so.

Communication—Five can enter the dimension of spirits at will and talk to the spirits there. But first, she has to put herself into a deep trance and leave her body behind in the ‘real’ world. Her current spirit guide is rather weak, so Five can only stay in the other world for a short period of time. About half an hour on a really good day.

Summon--Calls forth spirits from spirit world to her aid, although Five is careful only to summon lower leveled ones. As she is still a Shaman-in-training, summoning a high-level spirit can cause her to become consumed by it. Her spirit guide is the spoon-shaped figure on her belt, specially carved and always by her side so that she can call upon it whenever she needs it. She has named it Roo~

Heal--As a type of spiritual doctor, Five can heal an unbalanced soul by exorcising ill spirits from one’s body, or venturing into the spirit world to retrieve a missing piece of their soul. She can also bless an individual and temporarily protect them from the influence of malicious spirits.

Family & Relationships:
Parents—Not very close, hence the highly impersonal naming system her family has developed. Five is the second youngest of six children, all of whom were also named after their birth order.

Sisters (One, Two, Three, and Four)--Despite the lack of attention from her parents, Five was lucky enough to have four older sisters who provided her with abundant motherly love since she was a child. During her journey away from home, her sisters are the ones that Five will miss the most. Therefore it is likely that Five will immediately seek a new sister-figure within her new surroundings to attach herself to before she is even settled in.

Brief Bio:
Five and her siblings grew up in a semi-modernized village of Shamans, which has managed to avoid extinction by incorporating select modern ideas and inventions into their lives without fully overpowering the culture. Spirits are used casually in everyday lives to help with chores, farming, etc.
For example, while Five would be quite familiar with a radio or television, she has only ever seen the most outdated models available. The whole village used to gather around the single television set it had and watch reruns of Korean dramas together, Five usually sniffling along with the characters at the very front. A lot of what she knows about the outside world is through these dramas.
At a young age, Five was selected out of many other children to become the apprentice of the current Head Shaman of the village. Once she turned 17, she was deemed ready to venture out into the outside world and complete the coming-of-age spiritual quest that all Shaman must go through (though most don’t have to leave the region) as well as to find herself a proper future husband. Until she completes these tasks, Five cannot return to the village, nor will she be acknowledged as an official Shaman. However, if Five manages to successfully return, then she will automatically be next in line for Head Shaman, a position of great power and authority. Because of this there are many who sincerely hope that she will fail, or better yet, never return at all.

Quirks:
-Absolutely no sense of direction, and even still gets lost within the tiny village she grew up in. However whether due to her extreme good luck or not, Five will end up reaching her destination eventually after a very long delay. When asked if she knew where this mysterious-looking school (Halloween Academy) was, Five cheerfully answered “No,” and proceeded to simply walk out of her village and travel in a straight line until she miraculously found it a few weeks later.

-Quite easily taken advantage of. Yet, again, her good luck seems to come into play since terrible things tend to happen to those who attempt to exploit her naiveté. Could it be karma or something else?

-Her village is rather frugal, so as far as Five is concerned “any food is good food”. She will eat everything that is remotely edible, and will definitely not let a single grain of rice go to waste… not even yours o.O While quite generous about most everything else, Five is a little selfish when it comes to food. She claims that she will only ever share with her future husband<3

Personality: While Five is not short on intellect, she just radiates the feeling of an innocent, childlike idiot. Growing up, not only did Five grow up in relative isolation from the outside world, she was protected and babied by first her four older sisters, and then her Shaman mentor. On the other hand, Five is brave to the point of reckless and passionate. If she knew what tact was, she would try her hardest to be tactful. As it is, Five is quite honest and straightforward, but with such naïve bluntness that people often find it difficult to feel offended. She also has a very optimistic and curious nature, unfortunately combined with little common sense. When Five sees an unfamiliar object she wants to know more about, she would ask what it was, and then go on to poke it before anyone can answer--or warn--her.
Five likes to be taken care of, and most people find that they cannot help but oblige. Additionally, Five is quite the cheesy romantic, eager to fall in love. She has gained a lot of knowledge from her trusty Korean dramas; even though the actors are humans, Five has left her village expecting that all males no matter the species are similar to ones depicted in the dramas.

Reasons for Halloween Academy:
- While scrying into Five’s future, her mentor saw a large black mansion-like school with long arched windows--Halloween Academy. Five was told to go there for her own personal spiritual quest, where she will it seems, face many, many challenges blocking her path, but could perhaps find her true self at the other end. Her Shaman mentor hopes that Five will shed some of her naiveté and become a stronger, wiser person through her adventures.

- Five must find a suitable future husband during her quest to bring back with her at the end of her quest because to her mentor, apparently, “You are such a weirdo, only another weirdo from the outside world can possibly put up with you.”
