Description Doodle inspired by watching a Naginata (pole arms)championship. It's a symbol of the social status of women of the samurai class during the Edo period. Women had to learn the martial art to defend their homes while their husband are at war. Now it is part of the Japanese school physical education for girls.

You've instilled the honour and courage of samurais into this piece. The wonderfully dynamic brushtrokes contrast with the calm stillness and quiet confidence of the martial artist. I'm totally enamoured with this piece. A thousand thanks for creating and sharing such a beautiful work.

Wow, this is wonderful. I practiced naginata myself, along with iaido. I love her conquering expression.
