Description An illustration for "The Cimmerian" - [link]

The reptilian thing pictured here, bearing the corpse away, is meant to be an alligator. I decided to take a wild guess about alligator anatomy, rather than consulting Google Images. Wasn't even close! Oops.

Lovely work. I much prefer your alligator... a real one wouldn't feel as storybook-ish as this one does. And please forgive my made-up words...

Anatomy doesn't matter when it's really cool looking right?

Well, it's Howard. His primordial critters could be as outre as those of Burroughs.

Well, I think your alligator looks better than original ones. Especially its tail.

Think of it as a nasty amphibious creature rising out of the murky depths of Socar's imagination.

I like it.
