Description And it's done! I tried something a little different with this one. The only inks used were on some of the smallest facial details, everything else is pure pencil. I thought it should have a foggy/misty look to it, and was also curious to see if I could make noticeable "color outlines", without making everything stand out too much the way inks do. My rain effects could use some work. XD

As said in the original sketch, this is my take on how Scar might look had he somehow managed to escape the hyenas and the fire. I like to think he escapes somehow even if everything points to the opposite. He's trying to slink away here and it seems as if someone's spotted him. Run.

Thanks I gotta stop being so obsessed 'cause now I feel like writing my own spin on this. XD But even if he escaped, without someone like Patches he'd be pretty screwed. Like what you said in another comment recently, it makes sense that his lack of physical strength would have been the reason he was allowed to stick around (pity) He'd stand little to no chance of claiming his own pride, even less of a chance after he was injured and older as he is here. He hasn't a friend in the (cannon) world to turn to.

In the cannon world, I'd always hoped he'd escaped and ran so far away that no one knows who he is. Then, befriends something like a cheetah (since he's pretty lean like one) or something and they just live together. Patches originally was going to be a cheetah so I think that's how that thinking came on. XD

"Run...run away Scar, and never return", if only he'd taken that chance D; I have a cheetah character named Akeno (you might've seen a couple pics with him) and I could see him getting along with Scar (Akeno might annoy him a little though, he's a prankster ) I never really wrote him into the TLK world, he's an old character of mine that I used to roleplay with a friend of mine. He wandered around with my friend's white lion character. I miss RPing sometimes, I used to do it all the time. Patches woulda been a cute cheetah, but he's so unique the way he is

Yeah, I know. I don't know what he was thinking when he attacked, other than "This little brat, who's taken everything from me." It's not like he'd have anything to go to if he'd won. I think it was the whole 'he saw some of himself in Simba' thing, or something.
I'd had some concept work done of cheetah Patches but I didn't really like it. Settled with how he is after a few modifications from how he had originally been drawn.

Maybe he thought he could still control the pride by force (with help from the hyenas, since they did seem to outnumber the lionesses - and at that point he didn't know they'd overheard him blame them) but I think it had more to do with pride. I actually really like the "Scar seeing some of himself in Simba" theory too, and that he used his own words against him must have made it worse.

I wouldn't mind seeing cheetah Patches lol, I love cheetahs My own fursona has changed quite a lot, used to be a gray timber wolf...now he's a scruffy wolfdog mutt. Not like that's uncommon, but it's just what feels the most "me".

Sometimes irrational things are done when emotions are involved and I think that's what happened in Scar's case. I really don't have any explanation that makes sense to me why he fought other than the pride thing, and that Disney needed it's clichΓ© climactic battle.

I can send you later what I'd had done for me for cheetah Patches. lol. It didn't feel right and like you, I ultimately went with felt the most me which is what you see Patches as now.
