Whoop-dee-doo, looks like I went overboard on the detail for this one; to me, it's nothing but a mess of style clashes that derive too much from the "retro cartoon" style despite taking time to get the detailing right.

I've wanted to see what SodaDog would look like if he was fully cosplaying as Ness for a while, another one of the ideas it took me forever to fully conceptualise, so I wanted to imagine him going into space and stopping a meteor from destroying Earth. Yeah I know this kind of goes against what the game is about (considering Buzz Buzz came from the meteor), but I wanted to differentiate from the design that was used in that game.

I took notes from the mid-90s space age aesethetic, which were one of the prompts leading up to the Y2K aesthetic we all know to this day. I also wanted to give SodaDog "toony psychics" by giving psychics to his movement, such as his ears in order to make my drawings feel less stiff.
