Old McYo-kai Had a Farm...

This...has been on my backburner list for a while, even before Yo-kai Watch World was discontinued. Reasoning for delaying this was because I wanted to do it in a unique comic book-like style and since I've been trying out new styles, why not?

Here's the Yo-kai Watch World variants of Jibanyan, Komasan and Komajiro (and sheep Whisper because why not), as farm animals making their respective sounds. I noticed that Komajiro and Whisper were both sheep so I kept them seperate from each other and gave them different sounds. I went with different fonts for speech bubbles, where I imagined animal sounds going with specific types of fonts I drew from my mind.

I didn't want to go overboard with the background, fearing it would distract from the speech bubbles so I went with a pattern. I decided to go with a mix and balance of wireframe and cottagecore patchwork patterns, adding to the farm motif. I took notes from patterns I gathered from different types of Y2K prompts, including the colours but I ended up dimming them in the end to look more pastel like, because it was too distracting from the characters. The result was rather satisfying because it reminded me of a mid-1990s video game background, perfectly fitting with the "comical" style I had in mind.
