Synopsis : "Sofia wants to join the school's flying derby team, even though it's for princes. In order to prove her worth, she has to win an upcoming tryout race even though she's paired with a weak horse."
Talking about gender equality is very risky, but this episode shows it beautifully . First, I love the songs. The first song, along with being catchy, manages to make both sides look good without making either side look bad. The second songs is very empowering . I like how determined Sofia was to prove she can do flying derby like a prince can. Miranda and Roland were very supportive. James made a great partner to Sofia. He also acted supportive. Amber showed legitimate concern for Sofia after she nearly got hurt during practice. Minimus is a great underdog character, a very funny underdog character. Hugo made a great antagonist, who had the skills to back up his attitude and claims. This episode has great actions scenes and good humor . The moral is a powerful one, especially when it's pulled off early on in the show. This episode is awesome.

Figures that the first episode after the pilot would represent a lot of the episodes we saw in season: Cliché but works due to the execution. In this case, it’s a story I’ve seen a lot: Girl wants to do boy stuff but the boys are like lolno. But I’ve never seen it in a preschool show, so I can excuse that. And while it has those flaws that tend to go with these types of story, it’s still got plenty of heart, and a cool song. S yeah, I think it’s pretty decent.
