Description Hello everybody. I'm SofiaBlythe2014. Well, season 2 of The Lion Guard is finally here, and with two brand new episodes. Let's see how it turns out.

1. Babysitter Bunga

Writer: Elise Allen

Director: Howy Parkins

Date: July 7, 2017

Synopsis: "Bunga babysits some animals."

I never thought Bunga would be the focus of the season premiere. After seeing it, it's definitely a wise choice. This episode involves Bunga looking after Mihumi's son while she goes to unwind from a jackal attack that almost put them in danger. This then prompts some of the other parents to send their kids to him for the day, and he teaches them his best moves. I like how this episode subverts yer cliches of a babysitting plot by not focusing on Bunga's mess ups. That would be too easy. Instead, we focus on his strength, specifically his unorthodox bravery . He acts less like a caretaker and more like a big brother, acting all calm and reserved, and he manages to teach the other kids self defense with his mannerisms. It's a perfect example of Bunga's character development, with him being lovably naive instead of wreckless. This actually works to advantage of the episode's moral by portraying his unorthodox methods as a good thing. It's all about knowing how to make your methods work for yourself and others. It's a great start to season 2.

2. The Savannah Summit

Writer: Jack Monaco

Directors: Tom DeRosier & Howy Parkins

Date: July 7, 2017

Synopsis: "The Savannah Summit is in danger."

Today on The Lion Guard, we talk about politics. What do I mean? Pull up a chair, and I'll tell you about it. This episode involves the Savannah Summit, where the various leaders from all over the land come to delegate and end conflicts peacefully. However, Makuu is among the leaders, and Kion thinks he's up to no good. This episode does use the "not trusting the enemy who's working with good.". Kion does of course have an actual justification for his prejudice what Makuu did. On the flip side, Makuu is technically doing what a leader does. He just goes about it wrong. Another good subversion trick is that the main characters focus more on maintaining peace, and build up their conclusions with just enough umph. This then leads to our moral: "Don't jump to conclusions. Show compassion even to your enemies when the time calls for it. ".

Both episodes were a great way to start season 2. I can't wait to see what's next.

Bunga earns points for awesomeness for teaching the baby animals to protect themselves against ReiRei and the other Jackals.

Kion must be feeling bad when he attacked Makuu and later learned Makuu was innocent in this episode.
