Seems like I've been here for days?
Has it been?
I am so tired.
And there is no end to these damned banshees.
I may need to rethink my strategy.
Still, I promised victory. I can't have the Empyrean brand tarnished. Detecting movement in the banshees, clearly the want to feed, I fire several bursts from the psirifle.
They drop like flies.
And so do I. I'm spent and -
A teleport field opens up around me. Dispelling the hyperacceleration field designed to exhaust me. Only one person could have pulled that off.
If it's a fight she wants, she's going to get it.
I appear in the bunker. Before two traitors. Before they can do anything, I invoke Accumulate! and non-invasively scrape the astro power's she generating and make it mine. Making a fist, glowing with her... now my... power, I smash her in the face, my superior strength with her stolen force, driving her to the floor, screaming in pain. Standing over her writhing form, I fire blast after blast at her, and am satisified to see her contort in agony. Admittedly, I'm spending the power I stole from her at a prodigious rate so I fire a shieldcrusher at Tara who is enveloped in a blaze of heat and explosive force. When that clears, she is unconscious on the floor.
She was the easy one.
Fontaine took advantage of the distraction, getting back up and looking none the worse for wear.
"Tara predicted this behavior," she tells me. "So I only provided you enough power to make it look credible and - "
I fire a blast at her which she redirects to me, knocking me back.
"Damn you!" I spit.
"You had your chance," she laughs. "Shrink."

I feel my body do just that and in my weakened state I find myself reducing to an ordinary 177 centimeters.
Shorter than her.
And she's pulling her power back...
and I can't stop it!
What I can do is hit her with the mother of all shieldcrushers...
