First and foremost, Silence has very poor eyesight. She can see slightly better in the dark, but any light appears blinding and figures/shapes look whitee with glowing spectral edges. However, she has great hearing and smell so it’s virtually impossible to sneak up on her.
She has the supernatural ability to smell emotions, so she is best described as an Empath. It’s strong and accurate to the point one can say she reads minds. Sometimes, a person's emotions can be so strong they bother her physically.
Outside of this, Silence is very physically weak and rather slow. It’s not hard to overpower her with strength or speed at all. She’s not a very good fighter, but good at collecting information and advice because of her pseudo-mind reading ability.

Silence struggles with a lack of identity due to her past. Outwardly, she seems to be aloof or even tired. She often says harsh things without missing a beat, as if she has no self awareness. Despite that, she seems to have some deep rooted insecurity, being keenly aware of her weakness. She looks for any meaning in her life through others.
She is quite introspective, and loves to talk to others even if she is sometimes rude. Sometimes she can get awkward, flustered or panic-y but tries her best to communicate. She is very curious about emotions and strong feelings; especially love. Her curiosity can sometimes land her in bad situations. She greatly admires people but often ends up pushing them away because of her lack of faith in herself. Her uselessness eats at her.

Her memories of early youth have been lost to time, but she assumes due to the steel collar on her neck that she was once a slave. Silence assumes she was casted aside due to physical disability and incompetence.
The village from a colony of humans took her in, but she has vague memories of being shunned. A man raised her as a daughter, but did not fully treat her as his responsibility as he never defended her from village people who treated her as an animal. As a young girl, she never saw any issue with the way she was treated since she knew she wasn’t a human, so she felt like she deserved mistreatment.
The planet of Luvumia was caught in the crossfire of an extraterrestrial war and fell victim to a nuclear winter. Before this, she was locked away in a bunker used as a library for many, many years of her adolescence. In the cold darkness, she read many books and tried her best to survive in a single room without going insane. As a result, she lost a lot of social and physical ability and seems disconnected from life. She began to run out of food before being saved by someone who accidentally found her...

Relationships
Silver - Silver and Silence’s relationship is rather turbulent. Silence feels a special connection to Silver because he was her savior, but they tend to get into arguments a lot. Silver finds her stubborn and insecure, which hinders her ability to get close with or open up to him. While the two have a very intense physical relationship they lack the means to get close with each other due to misunderstandings.
Silver hopes to truly become friends with her one day, but as of now their relationship is just very rocky.
Silence doesn’t allow anyone else but Silver to call her “Sy”, not just because it hurts her but because she feels only he should be allowed to call her that. It’s very complicated.

Shadow - Silence and Shadow on the other hand seem to have a mutual understanding. The two seem very friendly and even affectionate with each other at times. While they like to challenge each other and push each other to get reactions or play-fights there doesn’t seem to be any animosity between them. Shadow is comfortable exploring things he otherwise wouldn’t be comfortable with, with Silence because their relationship is so mutual. Silence relates to Shadow a lot because of their identity issues so this is the source of their closeness. Shadow is the closest thing to what Silence calls a “friend” and they explore each other together without much turbulence.

Sonic - Silence greatly admires Sonic, but Sonic feels threatened at his own emotions for Silence. The fear of loving someone is very prominent here, leading him to have bouts of distance causing Silence to believe he’s just being an asshole/outright rejecting her. Sonic is deeply jealous of Shadow’s close relationship with her but is too afraid of his own feelings to try and create a similar one with her. He often will come onto her out of left field and very aggressively to try and convey his frustration. She likes to test him, to see what he truly thinks but no such luck. It’s like a constant war. It’s safe to say Silence brings out a bad side in Sonic.

Amy - Silence has an innate fear of girls so at first she was very nervous around Amy. While they are friendly, Silence doesn’t have much to relate with when it comes to Amy so their friendship is rather shallow but Amy does her best to try and help Silence out of her shell.
