That's from Dante's "Divina Commedia" ("Divine Commedy"), the first verse of The Inferno. Here You are literal (word-for-word) translation:
"In the middle of the journey of our life
I found myself in a dark wood,
for the straight way was lost..."
I thought that fragment would fit to my picture
