Both of my parents are teachers, one teaching children ages 10-12 in all subjects and one teaching youths ages 16-18 in Swedish and English. Note that what's covered in the curriculum here is according to Swedish law; what I could help you out with on a more universal level is what it's like to teach, what kind of work you do in and outside of school (spare time is a word that doesn't exist for teachers), relations with colleagues and superiors, relations with the kids' parents, the pains of correcting exams and grading them, and generally how things work at a school from an inside perspective.
