this flipnote was made to accomidate my anniversary of making flinotes.
I started making flipnotes when my friend Inu showed me the curious program that was "Flipnote Studio". i was astounded that anyone could have the patience or the talent to do some of the feats they accomplished on such a tiny, insignificant screen. for about a half a year I made flipnotes with her Dsi (I would make on whenever we got to do anything together, sometimes at school)
I love it.
I couldn't animate at all (hell, my art was nothing short of atroshous, much like my spelling ability) she showed me the curious website called "Flipnote Hatena" and introduced me to creators like Epic and Gunso.
I love it.
So i vowed to buy myself a DSi, even if it ment selling some old game boy games.
my friend sold me his old DSi XL for a mere 60$.

since 2011 I have been working my hardest to create flipnotes that I could be proud of. I have moved on to trying bigger, more impressive forms of animation; pencil tests, gifs, animation programs such as Blender, but one thing hasn't changed.
i love flipnotes.

one thing is certain however; not everyone loves making flipnotes for the act of making flipnotes. so many a creator let flipnote stardom get to their heads- stop caring abouthow they look and just post mindless jabber that they whip up in the course of hours.

I have made a promise to never do things like that.
all of my animaitions- no, all of my art will be as sincere and genuine as the last. and I am sorry if i sound pretentious, but i expect others to do the same. i have full faith in artist to respect themselves and thier work, ALL of their work-

so here's the breakdown-
The man with no eyes represents a norman, good-hearted creator of sudomemo. he wears his heart on the outside, exposes his feeling to the other creators.however when the crown appears, he turns popular, greedy.
now he just makes art to gain followers.
he doesn't care about his work anymore, his honor and pride is gone.
the flipnote he made is lazy and shallow, it's unthoughtful. but because he is a popular creator, fans flock in droves to watch it.
that is not okay.
the images that flash by in the end is such a frenzy, are all the flipnote covers from my last 3 years. (well, all the decent ones)
wake up artists, honor those who always take their time on their flipnotes. Honor those who care about thier work. Honor those who take pride in themselves.
we should not just pay attention to the label of popularity.
so wake up.
