Description The vest pocket turbine, or, VT-R1000 are small turbine switchers used all over the CMR's trackage. The small engines use the bountiful source of buncker C that powers most of the CMR's massive turbine fleet. It only seemed natural for Vest, one of the primary locomotive builders in the Confederate to build such a locomotive.
The R1000 pockets also have the dubious distinction of having one of the locomotives in their class to have a mob hit out on it.  Specifically locomotive #424-6. while switching an empty string of coaches to be coupled with an intercity local, a getaway car driven by members of the tucker gang, was struck while ignoring the lowering cossing gates. Fortunately for the police, the car was carying the gangs second in command. Unfortunately for #424-6 however, the gang was hell bent on blowing the locomotive into many tiny pieces. The CMR responded at first by renumbering her, but after being identified again, she now runs with an armed drisane permanently coupled to its rear.
