I went to let her smell my hand, and she put her paw out for me to hold. I sat down on the shelter floor and held it for a while... heart breaking.

Great capture, all our animals (apart from my wife's rats) are from rescue centres, we have two cats, one is now over 19 years old and the other about 15, the dog is around 6 years old too
