I've been saving this deviation in my Message Center, because I really wanted to leave a comment on it that said something other than "Pretty! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/e/e… " width="23" height="19" alt="" title="OMG! I can't contain my excitement!" />"
Which was my first inclination. e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Bucktooth" />
But upon closer inspection of this photograph, I realized how much your photography is improving. It really is! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/s… " width="17" height="16" alt="" title="Star!" /> Your photographs have gone from "random pretty close-ups" to "photographs with depth, meaning, and promise". I love watching your progress! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)" /> It's certainly a treat.
So! Onto the photograph:
Huge fan of the scope of this photograph. The way you've zeroed in on a single blossom (the top-most at that) and decreased the focus of the subsequent blossoms is a really lovely effect. This photograph follows the natural growth of the flower through contrast and exposure, which makes it look so natural and soft. I love it!
Had this been me, I'm pretty sure my tendency would've been to keep as many blossoms in focus as possible --- but the way you've decided to capture this is much more interesting to view. Much more artistic! The way you've framed this shot also gets a thumbs up. "Centered, but not." "Balanced, yet leaning." I love the way the foremost blossom tends to direct my attention toward the dark empty space in the bottom right when everywhere else is filled with white.
Great photogaph, Soli! And thank you for sharing! My only advice is to keep taking pictures, and to keep posting them here. e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)" /> I love seeing your work appear in my Inbox. e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/s… " width="17" height="16" alt="" title="Star!" />

I really like this piece! The flowers are pretty and simple to look at, but the depth of the piece makes it very interesting visually as it draws you in! Well done!
