~History~

Baby Dragonet - Amaranth was born in the Cricket Hive late one night. Her mother was the only one there. As a dragonet, Amaranth was raised by her mom. Her dad and brother had been killed in battle. They were caught by a criminal gang in Leafwing territory. They were out there because they heard rumors of an assassination plot on the queen. Her mother, Agrias, was a great mom and she raised Amaranth. She worked in a scarf shop part time in order to get enough money to provide for her and Amaranth. Agrias was very protective of Amaranth since Amaranth was her only daughter. Knowing this, she made every day count. Agrias liked to go to the honey shop with Amaranth. They spent most of their time in the library, where Agrias taught Amaranth to read. Agrias enjoyed painting, and in her free time she taught Amaranth to paint. Agrias and Amaranth had a great relationship. Amaranth had a really great childhood.

Dragonet - As a dragonet, Amaranth spent a lot of her time reading and drawing. She loved to explore, often finding herself in a lot of trouble. She found tunnels around the Cricket Hive and used them to move around faster. These tunnel often came out in restricted areas. By the time she was three, Amaranth had been in more trouble than the average 10 year old Silkwing. Amaranth was sent to school when she was four, making her older than other students. She had been homeschooled by her mother beforehand. She had two friends names Iris and Chestnut and the three of them were as close as could be. Amaranth was a really good student who enjoyed every subject she was taught (except for math. Amaranth did NOT like math). Agrias knew that Amaranth would be going through her metamorphosis soon, so when Amaranth was 5, Agrias took her to Mezzo. She didn’t want Amaranth to join the Silkwing military. The two of them waited for Amaranth’s metamorphosis. In the meanwhile, Amaranth spent her time in the Alliance Library reading everything she could find on the Orders. When Amaranth went through her metamorphosis, her mother waited anxiously. When Amaranth came out, her mother taught her to fly (with lots of crashes). Agrias also spent a lot of time teaching Amaranth to weave and spin silk (which Amaranth was not good at). After a few months, Amaranth finally got better. She spent more time in the library. She didn’t notice that Cypress, Master of Whispers, was there. Cypress noticed that Amaranth had came to the library a lot, and decided to quiz her on the University, Mezzo, and the Orders. Amaranth was able to answer all of the questions correctly, and impressed Cypress. Cypress decided to recommend Amaranth to the university. Amaranth went home and told her mom the amazing news. Agrias knew she made the right choice by coming to Mezzo.

Glasswing is a tall red Silkwing who was killed during a battle. Agrias described him to be “a good dragon” and “someone who knew right from wrong”.

Viceroy is Amaranth’s older brother. He died in the same battle that killed Glasswing.
