Good evening everyone! I have been extremely busy with messages during the weekend, but luckily I had some time to go out and take some landscape shots yesterday. This shot is taken in LapinjΓ€rvi (the village I grew up in), about 90km east of Helsinki. This lonely tree was just standing there in the middle of the field, so I just couldn't help but take some photos of it. I did some corrections to the photo in PS and turned it into a more blueish tone. Finally I added the vignetting and frame.Hope you like it. Comments and critiques are welcomed.

just curious - do you remember seeing this tree when you were growing up? or did it take going back home as an adult to notice it?

Actually no, as I lived about 10km from this place and back then I wasn't that interested in trees and photographing them. Of course I have driven by that field many times, but always keeping my eyes on the road, maybe it's best that way. 
Now when I went by it again, and saw it... I just had to stop.

beautiful! Isn't it strange how a photographer can paint with his camera and make it look like a painting, while a painter paints with brushes and can make it look like a photo? Your eye for the world around you is excellent!

Perkele!!! I was about to add more than that! About the backround: I like the way itΒ΄sΒ΄shapeΒ΄s like a thin line, but somethings bugging me, donΒ΄t know what..? Maybe the tree shouldΒ΄ve been higher? Or maybe it has something to do with the snow surrounding it? NΓ€h.. bad day!! Fucking finnish bitches lost to USA and no wonder!! They call THAT icehockey?!?!?! *leaves cursing like the devil*

Simple and beautiful
but... i dont want to sound "blah"... and it's just totally my opinion tho...
the framing is perfect minus one thing..
the effect that the frame did to the sky gave it the empty lonely feeling..
but the dark half of the frame cut some of the pure white snow
Don't get me wrong, I honestly

I've always loved these types of shots. The lone tree during winter in the middle of a lonely field, and you captured this perfectly.
