Yeah Eidolon!Loki! Great pieces across the board! 
I do think Loki went through a real emotional arc in the film, and that there is something to be said for him occasionally feeling vulnerable, helpless, or desperate for approval...but I also agree with your point about him being a manipulative bastard in the EXTREME. I think he craves power and perfection honestly, that he does love a good laugh at other people's expense and imagine he would fight tooth and nail if necessary to avoid degradation. And even then he would still fight. Personally figure the moments where he does need help are made more powerful if he usually doesn't--an exception rather than the norm. Very interesting point either way, very thought-provoking!

Oh, of course! That's what made his character in the movie so compelling to me. But yeah, I've been interested in the god for pretty much my whole life-absolutely LOVED mythology as a kid, and tricksters especially-so it actually bothers me slightly when I see so many people portraying him as a constantly vulnerable, wounded person. And I agree completely with what you're saying about degradation; I imagine he has a SIGNIFICANT amount of pride and stubbornness. My ideal portrayal of him would probably be that all his failures and wounds would make him even more vicious and conniving. Pretty much, I agree with everything you said.
