August 28, 2007 between the times of 1:30am - 3am in California, I sat looking up and watched as the moon disappeared and was reborn blood red for a little while before its transformation back into a silver moon. It was my first time watching a lunar eclipse. It was as eerie as it was beautiful.Related content

Fantastic! I absolutely love this! Lunar eclipses are always such amazing spectacles. They can also be known as blood moons or fire moons.

I wrote a poem in public school titled red moon rising... i got an A+ on it, the only part i remember from it is;
"I open my eyes up, and what do I see?
Red moon rising, so I go back to sleep."

hang on... did you turn the photos around or something? because on all your moons, the shadow is on the same side... it should travel across the moon as the moon comes out of the shadow again.

Not really, I only showed the transformation from the white moon to the red moon.

Yah we saw it too, but at like 7-8pm. My sister ~Mickey-Mouse has a pic too, but not as nice as this
Plus for us (down in the southern hemisphere), the shadow came from the bottom left side
