Kawatchi is a single child born into a loving family; her father a fisherman, her mother a singer. When she was a child, her father left to go on a fishing trip, but had died saving his crew. Her mother became despondent and almost lost her voice, but Kawatchi's efforts eventually restored her heart. Kawatchi dreams of helping others, and of marriage.
