Description Attempt at realistic tiger, the first one I've done infact cx used a couple of tutorials to get the fur going the right way, right colours and such stuff.

Wow, this is a really good piece ^^
I never wrote a critique, but naow i will try, so dont be mad with meh when i dont get it xDD

Sooo, lets start. I think the eyecatcher in this piece is the fire that comes out of the muzzle from the tiger. The flames you made there are very good. But maybe you should made them a bit smoothier ^^ I mean, the yellow is really hard and maybe you could add a bit red outside. Depends how it looks with it ^^

But theres something you drew really, and i mean really good. Thats the light effects from the fire. It was really clever from chu to make a dark background so the fire come more up and end as the execatcher.

Where you can wor more?I think you could work more on your outlines. I think their are a little bit messy. You also (when you want to go in the realistic drawing direction) could add more contrast into the fur.

But all in all i think this piece is one of the best you have ever done. The basic shading from the tiger, the fire and the colours are the best from it.

Good job e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

Thank you a ton for making a critique!

That was quite alot of positive stuff, thank you for that cx

I do agree that the outlines look quite messy, I was thinkin of just going lineless, but it would have taken me another hour...

One part to why I was able to make this was becouse I realised the power of the water tool, and I am now in love with it, its perfect for both shading and making highlights in the pelts! (like the pelt without the stripes)

Its okay ^^

Wone tip when you want to go into the realistic direction without lines:
Try to make more contrast.
To the fur and to the body.
I think you got the contrast on the body very nice, but then you have to work on the fur ^^

I do have fur textures on this one, but they have very low opacity, as I thought it looked weird if they were more visible, but it would also look very plain without them.

hmm. You have to know how it looks the best. Dont forget, it is your piece of art Find a middle way when you dont like to much or to less

Something no one else mentioned, the ears are mismatched, the back ear looking unfinished. And the ears are two dimensional. On the other hand, the way you drew the light and shadows on his fur is simply brilliant .

Just becouse of that the artist chooses to draw in realistic style it doesnt mean that the rest of the drawing has to be realistic.Β

Wow, so beautiful! Very well draw, the picture is so great, and the suggestion of "Breath of Fire" is so epic! Luinosity and shadow are perfect! That's really wonderful!

Thank you! And the breath of fire came from both my realistic-ish wolf drawing where I had blue fire instead of orange aswell as one of my friends had drawn a tiger breathing fire, and I couldnt resist trying to draw one on my own cx
