For this I started with 2 month old Special Effects - Deep Purple hair, bleached it out with 1/4th 20 vol and 3/4th 30 vol Kaleidocolors violet bleach + toner but kept some of the ends untouched. The result was pink hair with yellow roots and purple + maroon tips. Over that I dyed the top layer yellow roots down to orange ends, the next layer orange roots to pink ends, then pink roots to red ends, lastly red roots to purple ends.I guess that's really the best way how to describe how I achieved this. lol it's really not that complicated just a lot of mixing and sectioning involved.
Colors used from top layers to bottom:
Manic Panic - Electric Banana
Special Effects - Napalm mixed with MP yellow
Special Effects - Cupcake Pink mixed with Atomic Pink
Special Effects - Cherry Bomb mixed with Atomic Pink and Manic Panic - Purple Haze

hahh almost ended up with the same result, just using different dyes! i used manic panic electric banana, new rose, and fuchsia shock, but the orange happened while washing out (i turned my head upside down and the tin foil came off the yellow while washing out both pink and fuchsia so i ended up with a nice orange!) tried to find some pics where you can really see all the colors lol

Why thank you! And it takes a lot actually, it's kind of hard to explain simply. lol I do quite a bit of deep conditioning, minimal washing, only bleaching when I absolutely need to, balancing ph, and using top quality dyes. Oh wow, sounds like alot of work. I used to want to do crazy stuff with my hair but there aren't alot of jobs that will allow you to have your hair like that. I do definitely want to try it though.(= Thank You, I'll check it out

I used to be a clown for children's birthday parties, so the crazy hair worked in my favor. lol
Now I just graduated with a B.S. in Computer Animation, and as far as I'm aware most film companies are more concerned with talent than hair color. My art directors are all covered in tattoos and piercings. I think I picked a good career.

Aha I did buy the orange but in the end I dyed it black and blue! (Took 6 and a half hours, my red just WOULDN'T dye out) And now it's black, purple and pink

Does manic panic work well for you?
I've heard it fades oddly into weird colors.

It does fade weird, and that's just if I get it to take at all. The only Manic Panic color I really like is Electric Banana cause it's the only good yellow I've found. Especially since I don't think SFX makes their Bright as F@#! Yellow anymore, or it's just very hard to come by.
When I use MP it's usually just because it's cheaper and I mix a little in with my SFX to make the dye go a little farther since my hair is so thick. If I use just MP it hardly takes to my hair and comes out all splotchy.

Oe more question, how do you keep your hair from dying? lol my friend used to dye hers but now it' all dead lol.

It's just a matter of not over bleaching it, only bleaching when you need to, and deep condition frequently. I also have super strong hair which takes a lot to damage. I'm very lucky.
