Gorgeous concept. The keyhole in the tree's knot is a beautiful detail. You mentioned this is for a story...is there somewhere I can read it?

Too bad your scanner isn't working, and if this was taken with a digital camera and you save your shots in RAW format, apply lens correction before importing the photos to Photoshop, so that you avoid the curvature in the frame.
The line-art is really good, and the theme is dreamy and will work well as a whole book if everything else holds the same level of quality. You might want to put some more detail in the river.
