Description
The original draft for the sequel to the "BACK TO THE FUTURE", called "NUMBER TWO," follows a similar sequence of events to "BACK TO THE FUTURE, PART II."
They travel to 2015. Marty buys the Sports Almanac. Old Biff steals the DeLorean and gives the Sports Almanac to his younger self, altering the timeline. Marty and Doc return to an altered 1985 and uncover the year they need to travel to in order to retrieve the almanac. Except here it's not 1955 but 1967, and upon travelling to 1967 Marty's arrival and intrusion into his young parent's lives puts his own conception at risk.
It's a bad script and the actual film is way better. There is no contest. But I still get a kick out of the idea that originally Doc and Marty were to visit a completely different past time period.
Interestingly in this script Doc consistently meant to return Marty back to 1985 only minutes after they'd left at the beginning of the film. In PART II they return to 1985-A at night and in PART III Marty returns to 1985 on October 27th. I just found that interesting.
