Presenting the Star Trek 100 Years Later project, documenting original Star Trek's fictional Fifth Season premiere from 1970.

PART 39 is a screenshot from "FUTURE HATH COME AND I AM UNPREPARED" of the Enterprise and Enterprise-5 facing off against the newly arrived Klingon/Romulan fleet, near Pi Aquarii B III. Chief Engineers Scott and Kimbridge are still at a loss for how to return the Enterprise-5 to it's own time, but Mister Spock and Mister Questor have uncovered the reason for the telepathic circuits installed in the Enterprise-5's hull. They act as a transmitter that can be interfaced with by someone of Vulcan heritage and can send out a telepathic signal, one that could be used to erase memories. They believe that Fleet Admiral Spock designed the Enterprise-5 with this ability so that knowledge of future technology and events were kept out of the hands of those that would use it for ill. He had a hundred years to develop the technology, test it and perfect it. Mister Spock would be able to mindmeld with the Enterprise-5 and use the weapon on the Klingon and Romulan fleet so that they'll forget the Enterprise-5 even appeared in this time period. But unfortunately, that system is still becoming active and there is yet no chance to avoid a conflict.
Captain Kirk and Captain Hunt agree that they have to engage the enemy. The starships open fire...

NOTES:
STAR TREK 100 YEARS LATER is a project I have been working on and off since sometime in 2013. It started as some fake concept art for what a look at a hundred years into original Star Trek's future might look at if it had been made in the 1960s. I then built a story around it and combined it with selected story ideas taken from various Gene Roddenberry projects that wouldn't actually be made until years and decades after original Star Trek. 

The original version of this image was a little different with the ships placement and was the original version of PART 38. I changed it up because that image felt more dynamic but I just wanted to include it because I was quite fond of it.
