I was recording video and photos at the time and i had a 70-200 lens on my camera because i was trying to get some of the explosions in the distance or maybe one of the turret gunners. Then and RPG hit that vehicle in the front right (you can only see the spare tire), it was disabled and rolled back pinning our vehicle. When the corpsmen came over and started pulling guys out i tried to get some photos but 70mm was the widest i could get with my camera.

Wow!!! It amazes me that you can keep your head enough during these times to even line up a shot, much less one so compositionally beautiful!

you should be more impressed with the young corpsmen (Navy medic) taking care of those injured Marines and trading shots with the Taliban.

What an infantryman does in battle is beyond comprehension for most. I was lucky enough to be there as a photographer/videographer to show everyone else what they did, and I am forever grateful at that chance.

***Note: I also believe that is an RPG blowing up next to us.

I am!!! I thank God for them EVERY DAY! All of our armed forces deserve the highest praise and thanks! Our government doesn't do ANYWHERE near enough to thank them, but then again, I don't know what they could do to thank them enough!
