Somehow these strike me the most--painful, a quiet sort of disappointment that hurts the most. But more than that, "even though how much one may mature in time there's part of yourself that never changes...and I hope it never will."

Amen to that. I'm glad I'm not alone in those sentiments. These days, I feel like I'm clinging into everything I once was while letting myself grow into the person I will be. You know? It's like I want all the versions of ME to just be here always.
