Okay, some advice for this comic. First of all, please note that I'm not a Japanese teacher nor a translator, just a native speaker of Japanese.
Yumi's first lines "はい、ウーリック。プレゼントよ。" sound perfect. The last part "よ" makes sentences more girl-like, though I don't think girls usually use it in their real-life conversation. It's for fictional dialogue, I guess. And Ulrich's "意味は?" is also good. In Japanese, the subject of sentences is often omitted.
However Yumi's "えっと、「勇者」と意味です。 (I guess you already noticed the typo, と"いう"意味です is correct)" doesn't sound properly here. I think you know something about "keigo[敬語]" in Japanese, and this "です" is one of them. Although it depends on the circumstances, usually keigo is not used when you're talking to younger people or among close friends. Then I think "えっと、「勇者」って意味よ。" is better. Or more simply, "えっと、「勇者」よ。" is also okay. "という" sounds rather formal, so I changed it into "って".
I guess there are more I should tell you, but it takes so long to write explanation of Japanese expressions in English! Nevertheless, if you want it and if it can help, I will continue. It's hard, but kind of fun.
And I'm also studying English, so I would like you to correct errors or something in my sentences, if possible. Thank you.

Omitting “if” from the sentence is correct. You do not want to use, “There’re” though. I understand what you mean when you use this contraction (ex. They’re = they are, we’re=
We are, etc.), but it is not used in grammatical English. The only time it is really used is in dialog. It can either make the speaker sound very rushed or like they never learned proper English.
「If」を文に入れないことは正しい。 「There’re」は駄目だ。 その縮約したら、分かったけど (例 They’re = they are, we’re=We areなど)、文法的に正しい英語には使わない。ダイアログときだけ使っていた。 話者の話すことは慌てて言うになるにも正しい英語を学んでいないに聞こえる。 ← (どっ! I know that sentence is not right! >.< )

(Oops, I forgot to erase "if" on line 5 of my previous comment! Is that right?)
Again, no grammatical errors. Great! However I can find some unnatural expressions (I'm afraid that this "unnatural expressions" itself doesn't sound natural... I mean, expressions that are at least understandable, but not used commonly). Should I point them out? It's very nice to study languages together, but I think we need a kind of strategies for that.
Oh you are kind, to use a Japanese era name, but I prefer normal ones like "2008". (what can I call it?) Japanese era names sometimes confuse me!
Thank you, but I've never been to any foreign countries. I want to, actually. In Japan, usually, we start learning English at junior high school. When we are 12 or 13. However most of the Japanese people can't speak English almost at all. There would be so many reasons, but I think they are not aware that English is just an alternative tool for communication. That might be a problem.

I don't know where that got started.... They have not trouble at all pronouncing "L"s at all. I had more problems teaching them how to do "R"s. Must be because they don't have "L" in their romanized form of their writing system and consequently, all "L"s are written as "R".... 0.o

But the can pronounce "L", my students always said "Lice" instead of "Rice" and that's a BIG difference. We worked hard to correct that error.
