A very old comic I drew but my sister has convinced me to finally put it up (So please excuse it being drawn sort of crude). It's an untold chapter from the Second Season of Code Lyoko. This is also probably why the guys are happy to have Yumi around and sad when she isn't. The guys I bet relied on Yumi heavily to explain to Aelita any subject matter that is somewhat ackward shall we say for her guy friends to explain. I've realized that it doesn't matter if it's girl-girl, guy-guy, or girl-guy or vice versa, but that it's gonna suck for whoever has to answer that question.
On another note, I don't know why, but this situation seems totally believable for Aelita's character. Not only is she stunted socially at this point in the show (based on what you said, Season 2, where she is an amnesiac believed to be an AI), but also there seems to be a benevolent quality to her personality that people to subconsciously associate with our mothers. Man, I have been reading too much about Freud.
Also, based on what I have seen at my high school, that expression in the third (I think) frame is probably the most realistic emotion Aelita has ever shown. I do not know why, but all the girls at my school are OBSESSED with having kids. Dear God, if you knew the things I've heard them say, it's no wonder this country has so much teen pregnancy. Why do teenage girls obsess over having kids? I personally have no idea why, for me such matters are an afterthought if at all. But then again, I'm a guy. And a little anti-social, with an anxious personality, so, I guess I'm just a weird person. If so, at least I'm not as weird as Odd. Wow, what a rant I have given. Sorry for such long posts. I am very bored. I'll just end this by saying that this is one of my favorite comics you've done and I hope that, as a woman, you could explain the whole "obsession with reproduction" I've noticed with the girls I keep getting rejected by.

They obsess over it probably for a few reasons. One: they are probably feed the idea that they are supposed to get married and have kids by their parents from a very young age. I know I was by my Dad. Two:the media and society expects females to do that and produces content that supports those ideas in the form of music, film and advertisements. Lastly peer pressure and lack of proper education on the matter of sex. They probably don't fully realize the time, energy and resources require to properly raise children to adulthood. And you can't always relay on the idea that you will be happily married to a wealthy person who will take care of you if you don't choose to work. Statistically they are not a very large group of people anyway,and teen pregnancies are probably as many as they always were, they are just more public now.

Wow. Those are all valid points. My parent's split when I was six, so I know what it's like to see a marriage fail. Some people stay together only because of their kids, but trust me, if parent's are constantly fighting, it's just as bad on a kid as a divorce is, actually worse now that I think about it (source: personal experience). If two people are not happy together, their kid or kids lives are gonna suck either way. At least with a divorce things start to improve in 3 to 10 years (again, personal experience, in my case being around a year or two ago). I've learned that the idea that you will be happily married is a hell of a gamble. Also, I live in the South, Georgia to be precise (which is 49th in the nation when it comes to education,sadly), so those first two points you made are ESPECIALLY apparent where I live. When you mention girls getting the idea that they are supposed to marry and have kids soon from their parents, that is almost a cultural norm here because of all the members of the Religious Right found in my state. Seriously, you would not believe how many Evangelicals and Tea Party members I know. I know there's more here than in Cali or New York (based on the description of [link] ). As a guy who probably won't have any kids, it just gets annoying and, at times, a bit disturbing to hear the girls at my school talk so naively about such a subject. I really gotta shorten these posts, sorry.
