Description Another Chapter stationed in the horribly dangerous Raknye Sector. Today, we look at the crusading sons of Sanguinius. A Chapter of Astartes who have a taste for CQC and painting.

Established in the 25th Founding, the Ichor Seraphs are descendants of Imperium's Angel, Sanguinius. Formed from Blood Angels that were not only zealous but idealistic, the Seraphs were the first Chapter stationed in Raknye, not to defend it, but to expand it. It would be their duty to see that, while many of their cousins held the line, they would be the vanguard of the Imperium's attempts to reclaim and increase territory that had been lost to them since the dark days of the Horus Heresy.

They are masters of close quarters combat. The Seraphs have preference for Drop Pod assaults and utilise Assault Marines in jump pack assaults, going for the Shock and Awe approach of hit em fast and hard. Taking advantage of the confusion of their enemies, they procede to butcher their foes with ferocious melee that is carried out with the same savagery and grace that should be expected of any son of Sanguinious.

In regards to their personality, the Seraphs are, amicable. Not outwardly friendly as the Diablodons would be, nor as coarse as the Bloodstrom Brotherhood. They share the same attitude as the Eclipse Knights (a bittersweet glimpse at how relations between the sons of Sanguinius and Horus once were) in that, whilst removed from humanity, they are capable of interacting with mortals in a cordial manner. Their penchant for bloody melee combat belies the compassion they have for the common imperial citizen.

Their Homeworld is the Feudal World of Eketarius. A medieval-esque world that possesses lacking in modern technology (Spehss Westeros!) The Seraphs don't discriminate between nobility and peasant when it comes to potential recruits. Whether it's a young scion of a knightly order or a low-born thief who can survive the mean streets of a medieval city. After all, each Seraph is destined to become part noble and part savage eventually.

(Being honest about their name choice, I had a hard time coming up with something. I looked at a few BA successors and a lot of them are Blood-This Angel-That or something involving Flesh and/or Chalice. So I decided on Ichor Seraphs to keep in line with the whole Angels and Blood theme.)

As for Codex Compliance, they take it's wisdom very seriously, save for the few tweeks they had to make what with the Death Company and all. Other than that, they are amongst the Chapters that have embraced its teachings with no complaint.

Their greatest enemies are the Celebrants of Pestilence. A Nurglite Warband that leaves behind disease and decay wherever they tread. Their dream of expanding Raknye's territory is anathema to their foul "Grandfather's" demand for stagnation. If the Seraphs ever wish to realise their ambition, they must cut out the (literal) cancer of the Celebrants first.

The Chapter war cry is, "Sacrifice is Strength." To the Seraphs, no risk, no loss, no pain is too small a price to pay to fulfil the Emperor's dream for humanity's future. Even the tragic loss of their Primarch should serve as an example, not deterrent, that the Imperium and its Emperor ultimate victory must be brought about, no matter the cost.

In terms of their appearance, they look human enough, only having exceptionally beautiful features. (I mean, come on, their sons of Sanguinious. Of course they're going to look FABULOUS!)
