It's an odd thing pain. Not all can understand what it is to feel nothing and why someone would choose pain instead.

Let us devide pain into physical and emotional pain.
Physical pain: no big deal. I have been abused many times by my mom and dad. I harm myself. Does it really hurt? the answer is, no. Physical pain doesn't really hurt. It is only in your brain, and this kind of pain is easy for your brain to cope with. Also, this wounds heal by time.
emotional pain: ...
I really want to rip my heart out. Though i am dead inside... but this pain is still burning. I can feel the flames eating my dead rotting flesh... It hurts so much... I can't deal with it...
It really makes me want to kill myself. "Nothing" is better than this pain...
