Description This one has been hard to complete, because my photoshop software didn't want to help me make the shadows... so something which should have been easy, took me almost all the week-end. Oh, well, maybe it is time to change my old iMac for a new, more powerfull computer...

But anyway I got it, and here's a strip to show a Rogue like my Yllwenn has also a Bersekerr button... Just let her meet a lot of Dwarven ladies wearing the same outfit she though it was her valuable, unique and lovely wedding dress and voilΓ !!! You have a female bersekerr rogue.

I must say I'm completely crazy about wedding dresses so the fact that my city elf started with one in her equip during all the adventure was very special for me. I wanted her to cherish, both her wedding dress and her wedding ring (she may have given this last one to Zevran, anyway), even if the wedding dress isn't very beautiful, actually, and I thought all those dwarven noble ladies wearing it would make her furious. The rest, as they say, it's history...

Hey, entire Ferelden may be falling to pieces but the day a girl gets married is the most important on a girl's life and everything must be perfect. Specially her dress

I'm happy you like it and you agree. I was afraid this was too personal for a joke but it seems most people understands. I'm not so weird after all.

I got a piece of the same cloth that was used for my weddingdress as a good luck charm on special occasions right there with you.

I agree. Even if all the other dresses in the game were near identical (and they were) the wedding dress should have been a little more special. Nothing elaborate of course.

And I mean, what does it say about the Dwarven Nobles if their high class dresses is what the poorest people on the surface where for their festivities? I mean, that's pretty sad, if you think about it.

I love how Zevran is taking it so casually. And that Sten has nothing to say about it. He's probably more like "Why am I sitting with the group" than caring about what she did. Though no Morrigan comment made me a little sad. And I love how you draw Lelianna by the way. It's pretty, but it makes me giggle at the same time.

I love the wedding dress at the promotional pictures. The simple, white tunic with a flower crown. I guess it was difficult to make it appear in the game but I would have loved it.

And well, maybe as I said in a post below, the dress ended in the Denerim Alienage after travelling from Orzamar and being sold second or third hand, so it was a cheap dress after all. But most of all, and as with Alistair's rose, I just pick small details which may be of no importance for the storyline to laugh at them. No less, no more.

I love how you analyze the other's character's reactions. I try to stick to what I think it's their personality but of course I can be wrong. Sten has nothing to say, he barely has in the game and much less about something so trivial as a dress. This must have been an approval drop though. I included Morrigan late in the drawing - maybe she just doesn't care, same as she stays appart from the others in the camp. She's just reading a book (I'm not sure if it's visible in the drawing, but I intended her to do that), but surely she's thinking getting upset because of a dress is stupid. Or maybe she's smiling because she knows she has the coolest, most exclusive outfit in the game XD

I love drawing Leliana. It took me a while to get her expressions, but I try to make her innocent and pretty at the same time.

You know what? I didn't even notice that. Most likely because I hated that wedding dress. It was so...gaudy! I really did look just like something a dad would pick out!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SoniaCarreras In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-06-09 09:38:16 +0000 UTC]

Let's be honest. It's awful. I think Wade's leather armor is much more beautiful and better fitted than this dress. I wonder where went the design in the City Elf concept art (that simple, middle age looking white gown with a crown of flowers the bride is wearing). That LOOKED like a lovely wedding dress, not this thing. But it was Yllwenn's wedding dress and she loves it. I don't dare to disagree with her after what she's able to do

Even the common elf dress she's wearing at the beginning is cuter. I think that dress, with brighter colors and textures, would do a much better wedding dress...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristiVivar In reply to SoniaCarreras [2010-06-09 13:28:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I wonder where that dress went too. I'm sure the main reason was that they didn't want to make a specific character model with a long flowing dress for just one character but with that in mind, they could apply that to any non-fighter female NPC just so it could look more like... you know, the middle ages!

And don't get me started on the armor for women. I mean, why oh why does heavy plate armor HAVE to have boobs on them. And what is with the exposed cleavage on light armor, huh? And the two piece armor with the exposed mid-drift?! It. Makes. No. Sense! I know they are trying to differentiate the sexes but it just goes to far sometimes! In battle, I'm not trying to look sexy for the darkspawn, assassins, or anything else that might want to kill me! I need protection dammit, not cosplay!

Actually, in context of the story, hiding your female features is the best idea to have considering what darkspawn do to women...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SoniaCarreras In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-06-09 15:02:37 +0000 UTC]

From the very first moment you can put a dwarf armor to Sten or that armors change their shape completely when worn by a male or a female, I just try not to find any sense on Dragon Age armors. I mean... you find an armor from a dead body and automatically it fits you???? And you discard it and it fits perfectly other of your party members? As we say at home... it's too D&D. But hey. when you slay wolves or wild Sylvans in the Breccilian forest you can loot coins and even other items from them. Wow! Did we meet them just when they were doing some shopping? I makes no sense either. So I've learnt not to think about it and just enjoy it XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristiVivar In reply to SoniaCarreras [2010-06-09 22:12:37 +0000 UTC]

Well, at least animals aren't for some reason carrying around fire rings or for some reason, dropping whole armor sets like in other RPGs. It just really irks me because they were supposedly trying to go for a more realistic approach to fantasy and missed it by some marks.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SoniaCarreras In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-06-10 10:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Some of them do... I try to explain it thinking that maybe they were things they had eaten or which were stuck on their skin after a battle, but anyway. But well... I also think it is rather stupid you can kill a spirit with a sword (like the Dwarf's legion spirits or the elven spirit at the Brecilian ruins...). But believe me, we're playing Drakensang, a much more realistic computer RPG and I find it boring when you can't even pick a flower if you don't have herbalism. Extremes suck anyway...

NeroonCousland [2010-06-08 22:01:03 +0000 UTC]

I don't think City Elves are in the income bracket, that can afford exclusive designs to say the least.
But a funny comic nonetheless.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SoniaCarreras In reply to NeroonCousland [2010-06-09 09:32:11 +0000 UTC]

That may explain it... surely she bought it 4th or 5th hand from an Orzammar's merchant (maybe Gorim???). That would explain too why it is only worth 2 bronze pieces if you want to sell it, which is much less than what you should get for your common elf clothes... But anyway she hoped not to see it worn by so many ladies!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NeroonCousland In reply to SoniaCarreras [2010-06-09 09:51:57 +0000 UTC]

Well it's not like i'd expect females to react rationally to anything wedding - related so the comic still makes sense.

0Moon-Maiden0 [2010-06-08 21:28:12 +0000 UTC]

I know...I was upset too. I also kept the dress the whole time and even had my character wear the ring even though it was rather useless (until Zev forked up the earring then it stayed in the inventory...I even named the dog after her deceased betrothed). >.<

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SoniaCarreras In reply to 0Moon-Maiden0 [2010-06-09 09:30:31 +0000 UTC]

My character didn't even want to marry, but somehow she cherished the dress and ring... Unfortunatelly Zevran's earring never shown up at her inventory (maybe because she got it at the second chance, in the camp) so she can't equip it. I though Zevran should keep her wedding ring but then I thought I'd loose it if I import her into awakenings and I didn't give it to him. Damn it, I forgot Adaia's boots at Soldier's Peak chest so she's not getting them in Awakenings either.

I kept the dress for the Epilogue scene, so during the coronation she's wearing her wedding dress instead of an armor. I think it is more appropiated (and Zevran is wearing beautiful clothes too!!!)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0Moon-Maiden0 In reply to SoniaCarreras [2010-06-09 10:59:51 +0000 UTC]

No way....I changed her into the wedding outfit in the epilogue too. O_O

As for the earring it shows up in the plot item menu so it can't be equip-which I think is silly since (spoiler?) if you romance Morrigan she'll give the male warden a ring and you can wear that....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SoniaCarreras In reply to 0Moon-Maiden0 [2010-06-09 11:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Mmh, that gives sense to my son's explanation when I complain about not having Zevran's earring. He always says "That's because you're wearing it, mom". He's a clever boy XD

I wonder why Zevran is the only one who wears special clothes for the coronation. And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to use the wedding dress there too.
