Prologue: "That Day"

The expressions and emotions I saw and heard...

they rang in my memories.

My evil self was pushing away all good within my spirit and soul,

and I couldn't hold that back.

I needed to return...to strike fear into the hearts of the innocent

And their Pokemon...

Such powerful creatures could not stand even the nature

Of being captured and forced to fight...

This all describes myself...

from 5 years or so ago.

These were all thoughts from the mind of Ghetsis, the former leader of Team Plasma. He had been living in his home for several years now, and was in his late 40s. Ghetsis was older, weaker, and most definitely less evil then he had been five years ago, when he attacked Unova with his latest weapon. Now he sought to come back. He sought to come back from his peaceful retreat and reform Team Plasma. Ghetsis turned to his left; an old PokéPhone SI rested on a table nearby. He picked it up and went to his contacts. Ghetsis selected "Old Friend" and the number was entered.

Not too far away, in Undella Town, Colress was sitting in his house with his wife and children. Their names were Vanessa (Colress' wife), Avery (Colress' youngest child), and Jamie (Colress' only daughter). His PokéPhone rang and Colress answered.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Colress."

"Boss?! I thought you disbanded Team Plasma!"

"I did but now I think it's time we get the band back together."

"Alright…but don't harm my family!"

"Deal. I'll see you soon."

Boop.

"Sorry honey, I have some business to attend to." Colress said to his wife as he left the house. Why Colress would leave in such a hurry seemed almost alien to his wife. Suddenly, that image was replaced by a group of young trainers on an airplane. Those trainers were Ash, Misty, and Brock. The three were heading to Unova for summer vacation, not knowing that Ghetsis had returned.

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause

I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Teach Pokémon to understand
The power that's inside
