First of all...let me reiterate: ::hugs Chester:: He needs to join the sleepover at my place today. I have 6 stitchpunks here already. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="XD - "/>

So now onto the critique. As I said before, I love the mood! Dark, dreary, and WET. The overall body shape is good, I can see the skeletal form beneath the pelt, and it all look like it would work mechanically, if he were physically made.

A few things that stand out to me:

The outline. You should either go with no outline, or use outline on all of him...not a combination. Though really, he would look *awesome* if you could work on getting rid of the outline and using all shading and highlights like you did for his ribs.

Secondly, the water dripping beneath him is too light...it looks like there should be a light source beneath his belly. I'm thinking that of the water dripping off his belly, and on the shaded parts of his body...you probably won't see much of the water itself beyond an occasional highlight. I actually can't tell where the light is coming from...do you have two light sources?

The gross coming up in front of his feet and tail should be a bit sharper. It's on the same plane as Chester himself, and should have the same clarity and detail...else the figure and the grass don't look like they match.

I love his skull--that looks great! His eyes look a bit big though, like they wouldn't have room to turn in the sockets. Maybe a tad smaller? A little detail and texture on the dog tags (cat tags? weasel-cat tags? e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="XD - "/> ) would make it really look sharp.

He's kind of crowded, front to back, in the picture. Zooming out a little, giving him more room around him, (or making him smaller) would help that a lot. Also enhance the lonely pathetic sort of mood of the picture, too. It would be a better balance.

I love the mist effect you've got rising up from the grass--that looks neat. And the fur looks...wet! It's one of my favorites of yours, definitely. Hope my comments have been of some help! :grins: e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="38" height="15" alt="" title="Hug - "/>

For some reason I imagine this picture taking place some time right after he was created. I tried to make the background kinda look a bit red/orange, like there's a fire going on somewhere in the distance. I guess the war is still going on and he's looking for a place to get out of all the chaos. Which I guess would be the sewers.

Amazing! I love how you set the mood with the position of Chester. For a creation with such few ways to show emotion, you managed to do it very well! He needs a hug. *hugs Chester than wraps him in a big fluffy towel*
Love the colors, they blend very nicely (Something that I can't do for the life of me!) I like the water-soaked effect on him ^^

My favorite part is somehow his ears, and rib-cage. I'm a sucker for skinny things where you can see thier ribs.

The colors look great and you did a nice job with the lighting on the fur. I can really see the texture of the fur.
Plus, seeing the drops of rain dripping from the body and the soggy mud on the tail and feet are a great touch to it.

I sort of wish there was a little more solid background, since it's pretty much a blob of dark colors. However, I really like the mist on the ground.
