Celeste and Aurora, the Mermaid Princesses of the Antarctic Ocean and Arctic Ocean, and the predecessors of the twins, Karen and Noel, respectively.

Aurora is the youngest of the mermaid princesses of her time, born right after the tragic death of her predecessor, Edalinn. she is the lover of Celeste, the purple mermaid princess, who is the only one who understood her, since in the arctic ocean, everyone compared Aurora to the deceased Edalinn, and her fellow mermaid princesses considered her to be childish and immature, which greatly angered her to the point of fleeing to the human world, with Celeste going after her, along the way saving a little girl from drowning.

there, before she could even make contact with Aurora, she is killed in front of her by Queen Eudoxia of the Panthalassa, and Celeste's grief and sorrow of the loss of her lover caused her pearl to go crazy, and as result becoming a dark mermaid (like Sara) and killed the evil queen. after realizing what she had become, and feeling unfit to be a mermaid princess anymore due to her turbulent emotions, she pleaded with Aqua Regina to have her and Aurora's successors be born to take their place. the sea goddess answered her prayer and restored the light of the purple and indigo pearls and sent them to opposite sides of the world to have the new mermaid princesses be born...

however, Celeste hid herself away in the darkness of Lake Aurora and live with her grief for many years to come, and many rumors were spread about her by humans, who refer to her as a vengeful ghost. as for Aurora, her spirit couldn't move on seeing her lover become a dark mermaid, and silently watched over her, wishing she'd be able to comfort her.
