Stumbled across 's "99 Red Balloons" Project [link] and thought it looked like fun! The instructions were as follows:

Everyone will draw a character (preferably an original character), with 1 red balloon. I don't care what they are doing with it! That's up to you. But in your description I want you to explain what your balloon is filled with. Yes, balloons are full of air and helium. I'm talking more on a personal note. Fill that balloon with an emotion, a feeling, positive or negative. This has the potential to be a very emotional project. The more open people are, the more dramatic of a collection we will have in the end.

In your description you must explain what emotion you chose to fill your ballon with and why you chose it. Pick only one emotion to fill your balloon with please! Also, I want the balloon to be filled with an emotion that applies to yourself.

Since she REALLY needs more people participating [go ahead and check it out; it's a really easy project!] I thought I'd give it a shot! So, here we go:

My balloon is full of the zeal/energy/passion (don't know which word works best) I feel towards my imagination. I often say that it's drawing that is my lifeline, but in reality, imagination is much more vital. It offers mental release for me; a chance to actually feel free for a moment in time... The emotion I'm trying to convey is the eager, ecstatic feeling that causes me to rush headlong into an idea... and end up dragging a bunch of people along with me!
The little "^^" face painted on the balloon represents me; and my happiness in imagination (it's also the emote-thing I use most often 8D). It is flying up and away to suggest how far my imagination can stretch. 8D The eight (yes, eight!) characters on the string are eight of the people I tend to draw/write about/RP a lot; AKA, a few of the [un]lucky folks that usually end up getting dragged along for the ride! Some of them are OC's, and some of them are not; the latter category, thrown in to represent how I can become inspired by everything and anything. (Ironically, it worked out half-and-half; four are OCs, four are not). Each character--OC or non--is a different 'side' of me; these sides, of which, are often expressed in the results (aka drawings and such) of one of my idea-spurges...

The eight dragged (starting with the one closest to the balloon) into this are as follows:

Orrin (neopets.com)
NiGHTS (Sega's like-named series)
Gasos (OC), Scrap (neopets.com), and Klonoa (Namco's like-named series)
Atmadja "Maja" Latora (OC)
Alkerone (OC)
Spencer (OC)

It's really interesting to see my slightly pixel-y style working with a concept like this. XD I actually have had the lineart to this since around February/March, but never got around to actually cleaning it up/scanning it/coloring it. Gave me a lot of time to think about how the hell I was going to get everyone in the same file...
All of them together actually took up three (well, more of two-and-a-half) sheets of paper (The balloon and the two closest to it; the three all hanging off of each other, than the back-half of the string). I plan to have those sections of the string as separate uploads so I can rattle on more about everyone here, but I'll do that later.

So, I will just put a few of the more "important" notes here:

Yes, a lot of the details/anatomy (aasdffdgHANDSOHMYOD...!!) are messed up. I also realize that everyone is also out of proportion with each other (some of them aren't as tall [compared to each other] as they ended up being drawn) Deal with it; I worked too long to fix them now. Plus, I'm starting to think I drew this just to draw the expressions on everybody's faces
Red[dish] hair is surprisingly REALLY annoying to shade. So is the color yellow
Alkerone's sarong is really tricky to work with in that pose (hint: notice which knee is higher than the other... now, notice which hip the sarong is tied at).
Gasos does, indeed, have some wicked leg-strength. That's why I put her in that pose. Yes, her design (more of her attire) has been re-vampled a little; don't panic. She usually wears her jacket around her waist (like she is now)
Klonoa's attire comes from the second game of the series (Lunatea's veil). In most of his cameo appearances in other games, he is seen in this attire, therefore, it is his most recognized design. Yes, I am aware the placement of the Pac-Man logo does not make logical sense, but that's where it was in the design (Sonic's theory: he has more than one hat *hinthint*)
NiGHTS' color scheme is ridiculously fun to work with. That, and its catlike eyes
Edit: Forgot NiGHTS' trademark "twinkle dust" (the glittery stuff spilling from its hands when it flies), so I added it in
No, you are not seing things/I didn't forget. Spencer does not have a tail. The tail is an extension of the spine; and seeing how Spencer's paraplegia is due to spine damage, it is likely that he would have probably lost his tail [well, whatever stub of a tail hares have, anyway] from it.

Used an AMAZING tutorial by for the background... mine kinda fails, but it came out better than I originally panned. Some of the shading's messed up, but I think I'll fix that later. Maybe tomorrow; I'm too tired right now.
Edit: Brightened up a few blue areas in the background; hopefully the clouds and stuff are more visible now
X3;; I worked all flippin' weekend on this, and I must say: I freakin' love this pic. I might comment more on this later, but for right now, I'll leave it go.

I might do a Process-thingy to show you guys all the steps taken to make this thing. 0 0 if I have time...
