I think the lighthearted and fun was more for me. Such sad news needed a counter. Who is the greatest counter to mortality? Well there are many. For me though, it's always been Pan.

Well, one connection I can make for Peter Pan and Leonard Nimoy is this: Leonard Nimoy voiced Master Xehanort in the video game "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep" which featured a level based on Disney's "Peter Pan," which has the heroes fighting against Captain Hook. It's not the most concrete, since it's left in the air whether Nimoy's character manipulated events in Peter Pan's world or not, but it's still a connection.
Regardless, I will miss Leonard Nimoy, too. May he live long and prosper in our hearts and memories.

True. However, I think Spock would find it illogical why Peter would try to prolong his youth and insist everything trying to kill him is a game. He wouldn't fit in well in Neverland.

That's true. Peter Pan was more in the idiom of Kirk. "Second star to the left, straight on til morning."

If Kirk was there, he'd be too occupied with the mermaids and Tigerlily to worry about anything else going on.
